Seems to me as your stuck with the girl-face. You regularly think of new guy-faces but there is almost nothing new on the girl-faces...

Well that was the only critic i could think of. I really dig the shading allthough it could be more fluid.

    MY SKETCHBOOK

I know it's all been done before, I want to do it again. I want to do it again.

Wes, its so totally awesome that you post here, please dont stop it.

What do you plan doing after school/college? Could imagine that, with your talent, you could work as a freelance artist?

Jeezis, Wes... you're images are a veritable feast. Very engaging. I especially like that one with the firebird pattern overlaid in the middle. You call these sketches... I call them frameable. Beautiful work.

every time i travel somewhere and come back home, there's a wes update. strange, but nice. all of these are fantastic, it's a too long list of what i loves about them, but to name just a few: abstract bits kick mad ass, the phoenix on the reblot one, the black sphere on the last one, the abstract landscape on the third one... etc. etc.

these work like a hammer to my head. hammer with words "DRAW MO" written on it.

    cheers

well wes...it seems like you blew the minds of everyone again. i love the new direction your going with these. i really enjoy how you are using the pencils like glazes in painting. like the bicylcion drawing. how their two faces converge...its very beautiful. your going to san fran right? i hope so because i chickened out on talking to you but i love the design aspect in each one of your pieces. are you planning to go in a more fine art direction or what? because with your drawing and painting skills you could really rock the fine art world once you build a strong concept for your work. it might be cool to build a narriative with your drawings and paintings. you have so much imagination its sick. i wish i had some tips to give you but then again...i think your on your own level here man. thank you for posting and inspiring us all wes. your seriously a model to us all on the boards for the dedication to drawing and painting. there isnt any real secrete to it...just draw like a madman and keep learning.

    ok enough rambling.

dude, these are truly sweet. you really got a handle of crosshatch. do u build up or justdarkened, cuz some pages u seem to have ALOT of graphite.

also the guy with the cast his arm is too long. other than that, great use of anatomy

Hey wess this is robert from cia, firstly id like too say i am simply astounded by your work, your compostions are becoming more and more imaginitive its realy exciting. You set a very high standerd here at cia all the first and scond years are trying to work up to a wess burt level of rendering its realy intersting to talk with some of them. They still have your work in hall and i think its gonna stay there for some time. But i just wanted to say whats up and i love the direction your going with your compostions, its ver intriguing.

Wes9000 Sketchbook Thread, Will you marry me?

Seriously tho...rarely have I been so inspired by a sketchbook. I know a lot of folks have said so already, but it's a joy to view your beautiful creations. You have a gift and I'm glad you are willing to open up that book and share it with the rest of us.

Keep pushing yourself. I cant wait to see just how far you can go.

    Thanks!!~~~JadeDragon
