    Body Language flash cards

    Hi all,

I've started a new project recently aimed to create a set of body language and meanings flashcards. Based off of the webb game here:

    http://memorizable.com/Body_Language

I'm curious if my method of having multiple characters, cropping and camera angles seems to be working here. Any ideas on how to improve this stuff?

These aren't bad for studies, but if you're hoping others will understand the nuances of your figures you should probably be referencing the poses and expressions from yourself or other willing models. The facial "cards" are especially ambiguous. Body language is a veeeery subtle thing, especially in an area where we have so many muscles and much movement.

    new images using photo ref

So I tried going the photo reference route as you suggested.
I'm noticing more subtlety in angles and expressions; I feel that my level of detailing isn't quite expressing it properly...

I feel if I push the detailng too much, I'll distract the viewer from the pose, and if I detail too little, the subtlety of the facial expressions and the pose are lost

    Maybe some color would help?

    more sketches

I'm pushing through these a bit more here... I'm noticing that its difficult to try to render jeans folds in intreesting ways. I feel that I need to push the folds in the photographs further as well as the pose to convey interest...

So heres the last of the 24 images, maybe I'll design a border for a flash card / playing card layout for these?
