Cool! They should put this into the "Community Activities" along with COW, CHOW, etc. It should be the Sculpture of the Month...SOM! (can't be weekly because sculpting takes longer)

I will definitely make an effort to participate. Thanks to Teamonster for this exciting competition!

Glad to hear you guys are up for it

Sculptingmonster610 taking on Vertigo great! I keep looking at that one and just thinking, um? By the way she's a girl aparently.
    Thanks for the ref.
(If you're having trouble attatching pics 'go adavanced' it's the icon of a paper clip. CA now offers direct uploads from your computer no need for image host, it's quick and this way pictures won't fade off into history)

Everyone feel free to post good ref you've found, it's a friendly competition so help each other out, it's nice.

MadCross now the thread is active I'll see what promoting I can do

fritfrito you and me on the same page buddy, I'm going to do Blizzard VS Diablo I think. Been looking at PJ'S KingKong for inspiration.
(oh by the way I'm not eligible for prizes)

    FRUITDOT DO IT!
You'll only improve, got nothing to loose, just enjoy your art.

I'll be the first to admit as soon as I think I'm the bee's knees someone posts up and blows me out of the water! I love it, I love the potential we all have.

What a great idea. I am anxious to see what everyone comes up with.

Great subject matter for the contest, too. Love the brutal, prehistoric theme to these guys.

maddmaestro Don't think about the pennies, think about the challenge of it. Give me your hat dude

dark wraith More fun than you can shake a stick at!

fritofrito Excatly what I was thinking.
I'm going to try and push myself to top that! Aargh big challenge, YAY!

john d You can choose to leave it unpainted. I do encourage you guys to take it all the way and have a go at painting.
However as we are judging sculpting, as aposed to painting skills it is not vital.

hmm, I've been thinking and thinking... and thinking some more, and I think that I'll actually have a go! I'm not sure if I'll have time to finish the sculpture tho, considering my University studies, and I haven't decided which character to sculpt yet either, but I hope that's OK anyway? I'll do my best!

I might do Armadon, since his render looks really cool and I might have time for a quick study in a week or two.

btw, I didn't quite get if we were to post our progress shots on this thread, or on our own threads?

Found a couple of really cool Primal Rage illustrations on the net:

    PRC:TM's Rage FINISHED!

    PRC:TM's Rage FINISHED!

Maybe this is an idea for someone?

Also, a picture of a mini-Talon sculpt: PRC:TM's Rage FINISHED!

Welcome fruitdot, thanks for the ref, yes definatley post your progress here, dont be shy. Just when you're "finished" take a couple really good pics and send them directly to me.

This is for everyone to have that air of mystery and excitiment near the end. I personally find the last hours of a sculpt can be really interesting- how it magically all comes together!
I will then format all the pictures nicely (i.e all the same size) and present them in unison at the same time to the judge.

I will be announcing who the judge is later

UPDATE: I've made a seperate thread with progress shots etc. of my rage sculpt: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=139595

Okay, then I will be brave and post my concept and my progress so far:

    PRC:TM's Rage FINISHED!

The idea is Diablo lying on the ground because he has been hit by another one of the characters (I'm not sure which one yet or if I will sculpt it too), and that he continues the battle but on his back. ^^

Here are a couple of pics of my progress and the sculpt atm:

    PRC:TM's Rage FINISHED!

    PRC:TM's Rage FINISHED!

    PRC:TM's Rage FINISHED!

I do have to add that Roostercat's AMAZING t-rex sculpt has been a huge inspiration, also other references from different places.

Sounds like great fun. But what's a 'Teamonsters Rage' sculpt? Any links?
    ...which is only my opinion.
