welll a simple way of explaining what structure is.. is to look for simple shapes. take the torso for example, it is just a simple oval shape. Understand the basic shapes of the body first before you start moving on to muscles and such.

If you really want to understand the human body, here is a web site with some book PDFs, look through them, they will teach how to approach drawing people http://processjunkie.blogspot.com/20...e_archive.html

hey good studies, I would suggest that you do some studies on the planes of the face, and for the shadow, maybe a look over the concept of core shadow =D

hey nice update, good call on those fixes, it looks alot better. Just gona point out 1 very little thing, the diagonal lines from the noise to the jaw(i think its called laugh lines?) should be closer to the mouth, that or the mouth may need to be a little bit wider. just my opinion hope that helps.

Aside from that keep up the good work ^_^

thanks for stopping by my sketchbook.

you are very diligent with your studies and it shows. i really like the pieces you did with ink in posts 21 and 22. keep up the good work.

i would urge you to do more digital paintings, as that last one was excellent. if not digital, then at least try to work with color more.

Cohen: thanks i think that was my best digital drawing so far, i gotta try something a bit more interesting this time round though.
marleau: cheers i do spent quite a bit of time doing studies but i think to many human ones i may need to try and get a bit of variation.
Thanks for all your comments I hope to get some more drawings up later

thanks for stopping by again. I enjoyed the running robots which really gave a good sense that they were running, which has always been a hard thing for me to portray. The first skull is a little odd at the top but I see you tried to work that line a few times so maybe the reference was weird. and as for the girl's face, I love the expression. very nicely done. simple yet effective.

Thanks again for the critiques. do as many as you like

that car is looking good dude. Oh and about the happy robot. I had a dream like that picture about a year ago. except the robot was not happy and it was snowing. I think in my dream robots took over the world. Anyhow, just thought I would tell you that. haha.

some points on happy robot: the blue glow that lights your character doesn't make sense to me. I can't tell where it's coming from. also, on the ground the light just goes to the brick wall and stops dead in it's tracks. Another thing, I love the background color you have, especially where it meets the red. I think it would be really awesome if you continued the red into the background and just don't touch the area where the robot's shadow would be. So the gray acts as the shadow. just a thought or two. peace, and happy drawing.
