Cheers Orange Been trying to get better at rendering light and good to hear I've got the horses looking right from someone who is familiar

Had a final tweak on Cate, here's the final one...this has been a cool one to do, enjoyed every minute

Great job! The sharp pointy edge around her browline is bothersome. Maybe curve it instead to match with the contours. Good job on the clothing. The overall structure of the hand near her chest feels odd. The rendering on the base of the nose feels a bit messy. Check your ref again and try to fix it.

    Later!

Cheers D Always good to have your opinion...I had asked my boyfriend what he thought of the forehead coz something wasn't looking right, I thought it was the too white, so thanks for spotting that. As for the nose and hand I hadn't really noticed anything but it is a caricature so I've been distorting stuff throughout and am so used to looking at it, so again thanks for that too.

Will visit you soon, have more time on my hands, the band thing didn't work out but that just gives me more time to draw

    Cheers Noodle

I've had a tweak on all the things that were pointed out. and some things that have been bugging me...

...but for now I'm calling this finished.

A piece to be proud of, for sure! I especially love the hair. I like the contrast between the sort of realistic yet painterly hair and clothes and the cleaner more stylized face. Well done!

Thanks Hai, I'm really pleased with that one, the hair seemed to paint itself which was good I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to pull it off! Cheers again!

Latest caricature...Warren Beatty as Clyde to go with Bonnie which I'm then going to put together as part of my Silver Screen Project...

    hi

nice work on this caricature, good balance and of course good likeness (as always). You could work more on the eyes , they seems closed.

    keep up the good posts

Love this! The pose and style is great. I do see a bit of Warren there but it's not yet clear. I think you could also work more on your rendering ability. That will really raise the level of your caricatures.

I would suggest copying realistic drawings from other artists to get the hang of it. Andrew Loomis' heads come to mind, actually. They have a full range of tone and they're also done in pencil. Look for his book "Heads and Hands". You could easily find a PDF of that somewhere.

Thanks for the lovely comments guys

Zou I agree about the eyes, now I look at them again they aren't very clear, cheers!

Dizon Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely check Loomis out I don't know why I haven't before keep hearing the name around. I guess I'm out of practice rendering traditionally just been focusing on photoshop for so long. Thanks!

This is one I did today of Marilyn... I think I will tweak her eyes a bit more they're not quite there yet.

Haha, great Lady Gaga caricature! Really got the likeness down, and works on several levels.

    Grandmassa
    - TA muchly! Am feeling inspired hopefully it'll last - thanks as well for the link, doesn't work sadly, what was it to?

the grayslayer + littleelf - Thanks, my fav so far, learnt alot on that piece.

keevy39 + Eric-Anthony - Cool!! Cheers - more updates on the Absinthe to come (eventually)

    WIP pdates-
First one is couple of sketches out of my head and then started Katy Perry and Russell Brand (well, it will be when I've sorted his head out, doesn't really look like him at the mo), Kylie and then Audrey Hepburn (she needs a bit of work too)
