    Black Velvet Painting........

So... I've had a little think and am getting gradually more interested in trying out painting on black velvet, but have no idea just how to "start" for some reason. I'm going to go out there and experiment but, am just leaving a message on here to ask if anyone has recommendations for what paints to use, or any initial tips just to have in mind while I have a quick try with it.

I don't intend on going far with this style of painting, but at least want to experience trying it out.

Any tips in general, or any paint recommendations, or even moreso if anyone who has tried this out has any sort of "procedure" that they like to follow, I'd really appreciate your 2 cents. Thanks.

I am pretty sure acrylics are what you need.

I think I used to own a big velvet painting of Elvis once...

    Thanks Mad Cross!

And yeah, I don't really plan on doing Elvis etc Seen those paintings around before however.

It just seems like a fun (though apparently stressful) material to toy around with.

I think that's really cool. The velvet gives the painting a real depth and bring out the colors like nothing else. I might try it myself...I think they sell pretty good.
