Hopefully a way to help some people out. Before you go on to read this though I'd like to tell you that since I posted this thread I've realised that the best cure for procrastination and a lack of motivation is just doing. No thinking, no theory but plain old getting up and getting the task done. Try that and it'll take you a long way. P.s If I can personally help in any way then I'll be glad to do so

Dont Compare your self to others. When your really hitting rock bottom and you're just losing your self take some time out and go through your own sketchbook. Look at it from beginning to end there's no better comparison than yourself, you'll see all your hard work, I think it's the greatest motivation to see your own progress and it gives you drive like nothing else.

You rock! I'm currently a little over whelmed with too much inspiration, but I'm going to dig through some of those links when I get home. Great effort! I think that's worth a thousand times more than mindlessly giving someone a hand out.

Also your effort inspired me to take an interest and do some research on the holiday. I'm going to make a food donation to my local shelter/pantry on my way home today

i hope im not comming off as a snob, but its really baaaad form to complain about ones own laziness. ..its not cute
and it is devaluating the Art discussion forum, it seems like the majority of this forum is composed of these threads.

i think if this is made into a sticky id would be great ....a quick place to refer them all .

Kingshaj: no your not, but its not because they want to just annoy people but more because of their lack of knowledge about the whole subject. If everyone knew you dont even need motivation that much they wouldn't be posting all those threads, So lets just cross our fingers and hope this helps them and every other member of CA who doesn't start a thread when they feel down because well all do.

I'm one of those lazy fucks whose afraid to draw but wants to... you know what, starting today, I'll try to do at least one drawing a day. Even if I can't think of anything, I'll stare at my hand and draw it. I'll save those fuckers in a folder, and see how far I progress.

once upon a time i was working like 13 hour days in a warehouse. it was the fucking worst and all i wanted to do when i came home was sleep or veg out, but i always made some art from the time i got home until sleep and i'm so glad I did.

You know, something that helps..

Uninstall your IM apps. (Msn, aim, icq, Irc)
Uninstall ALL YOUR GAMES. JUST DO IT.

Now, the next time you start your computer, you wont have anything else to do except drawing.

i think this thread might get more attention if it were stickied under the stickied threads line. i don't know about others, but my eyes tend to slide right over the stickied threads. putting it in bold in the normal thread area would get more eyes to look at it, im sure
