Aaack! I've been working a lot but neglecting my sketchbook like crazy. I'll have more to show soon, but for now, here's the pieces I did for Team Chow II. It was an absolute blast to work with these guys and surprising to see how well the finals seemed to fit together in the end. Looking forward to doing another one down the road.
If you haven't checked out the voting page to see all the great work the teams put in, it's right HERE. Voting is half the battlleeeeee.
those are some meticulous anatomy studies. I bow to your draftsmanship! I got to get back to some basics as well..... always room for improvement fosho foundation on up and back down again. Heres to endeavors of excellence!
You've got some excellent pieces here, especially in your last post. But one thing to be careful about is where each extremity "lines up" with the same bodypart on the other side of the subject: just a quick example, the wolf in the final image there... His right ear seems to be higher up than his left (our right)... making his head seem a bit distorted.
Another thing is to get more references for your pics! The runner in the same image seems to be in an awkward sort of position, almost a bit rigid?? If you were to snap a photo of someone actually running like that, their hands might be in a different position to better suggest the flow of their body movement (if you sum up the body's movement and language in very few "major" lines, it might look a lot more powerful).
But you've got some incredible work here! Hope I can paint like this some day!! Love the "superior low-angle" shot of the female beast master.
