    Don't feel stupid!

aaarh, Flea Market, how sweet! I'll be gentle with ya...

Right, you haven't used Photoshop? Nevermind that now...

I suggest you just carry on concentrating on your pencil work. I can't really make out the pic, but from what I see, it's a person sitting with head bowed, one leg over the other and various weapons strewn about?

Advice I'd give sweetheart, would be draw this pic again, but define the character a bit more. Maybe you could trace over it, that way it will help you decide which areas you'd like to change, to get the composition and proportions right.
Find some comics/books/mags etc you could use as reference.

    Kepp at it!!!!!

To be frank I have trouble seeing what it is. It took a while to figure out how the arms and legs were positioned.

It is very important that you make the composition and motif easy to 'read' (see what it is). The faster the better. I know it can be tempting to hide stuff you are not able draw at first, but you really have to try, because it makes the drawing look so much better.

Practice drawing poses and faces from many different sources such as friends, strangers, photos, comics.

As an example, here's some female pose studies I made, from a comic (CatClaw):

    Faces from photos:
    http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/junk/practice2.jpg

You can vary the time you spend on each study (1, 10, 30 minutes). It doesn't have to look good (mine certainly doesn't), as long as you just make the studies. You will learn anyways. I think quantity is what you should go for. Quality sorta tags along after a while.

Also, get some cheap binders with plastic folders. You can get copymachine/printer paper to draw on. I use some thicker paper I found, and a drawing pad with a clip for attaching the papers. Sketchbooks are nice but a bit more expensive. I'd be ruined if I had used those. Depends on how much you draw I guess.

Jamen jag tror att han skäms, och har gömt sig. Vårt universum det är en av dom otaliga spermasatser som Herren i sin självhärliga ensamhet har runkat fram för å besudla intet.

    Hey man,

Good that you post, and now it's time to practice! I'd like to witness the improvement you'll make in time to come.

Just get yourself a 1000 pages of copying paper and fill 'em all up, that is got to have some impact and you'll make great drawings by the time you're done with that first pack! Listen to Prometheus.

    Good luck and keep posting

    hey Flea-

about your messy pictures either keep your hands clean or get an extra piece of paper and rest your drawing hand on it wile drawing.covering the part your not drawing on... might take a lil practise but it keeps your drawing pretty much smudge free...

There are a few problems that I see that have not been mentioned...

    the cruel stuff:
I see the hair looks like it´s blowing in the wind, like theres some strong wind coming in from the left. But when I look at the 'flag' on the 'pole' (not sure what it is, sorry) then I see no wind at all.. It took me a while to figure out what it was to begin with...

    The nice stuff:
It is a whole lot better than my original stuff, heck, I think I´m at that stage now after a bunch of practice, check my sketchbook, you´ll see It´s a very good start in my opinion but as has been said already, you have to define the form better.. and remember, fill at least 12 pages with heads, 12 pages with hands and so on, when you are tired of repeating the same thing, practice something other. Just practice practice practice And most of all, have fun
