Good job with the area around the eyes on the portrait. I looks *very* realistic.

Question is though, in the last one that you posted, why are there stray hairs coming out of her hat? Does she have extremely poofy hair that somehow sticks its way through the hat? Does she wear the hat all the time so that she sheds on it and therefore there are strands of hair sticking to it?

It took a few months for a response, but I tried to draw a disoriented, disheveled, depressed chick. The stray hairs are partly there because she shoved all of her long hair in the beanie/hat, and partly because the beanie was loosely knit. In my head, I imagined her wearing the hat all the time, at least long enough for hairs to start poking out.

Here's a painting study that I spent way too much time on. (My duplication is the larger one.) I'm not sure of the original artist as this was a class assignment, although it might be James Hawkins. If anyone knows for sure, lemme know.

(Note: The animu stuff and red leg isn't mine. Maybe I should've cropped it out of the pic. TOO LATE!)

Back in October of 2011, I did a mail art project for fun. I created a bunch of postcards by hand and sent them out all over the world. It took way longer than I predicted, but it was so worth it. The scanned postcard was sent to me by one of the recipients.

A self-portrait done with a mirror and a study I attempted without sketching first. (SPOILER: I'm never skipping the drawing phase again.)

A couple more studies. The scenes were taken from TV shows and I spent about an hour on each.

Some sketches. The first from photo reference. The others are still life and people in Taco Bell.
