I wouldn't say you suck at painting, just needs some refining. They are all pretty good starts, maybe use bigger brushstrokes to begin with and then gradually go smaller and smaller when you reach the limit of what you can do with the current brush size? Depends on what you're aiming for I guess, what you have at the moment is quite a good textured base. Not sure if I've been too helpful really!

Very nice work man! It is indeed good to see another Bournemouth man here. Its especially pleasing to see you so very able with both 2d and 3d! Only a few people I know can do both well, its great that you have the best of both worlds

monstertree Cheers buddy, really appreciate it. Yeah I guess I need to have a proper go at refining one of my paintings and see how far I can push it.

    Bendragon Thanks Ben

Here's a render from my current animation project, and some other bits

Here's some more 3D stuff. This is a WIP Zsculpt of Batou from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
I'm hoping to make a game spec character from this eventually with equipment
Any suggestions on the sculpt so far would be really helpful, both anatomy-wise and design wise.

hi your line quality is getting better
, keep the loose quality in it. (draw in big formats sometimes , that will enhance your little drawings)

your rendering is nice and painterly, keep up

mate i simply love this.It would be a great help for something i need if you could show me the bone system and the envelopes maybe in a screenshot.I make a body on a similar polygon system but in the joints i get bad effects(even when i use more polygons there). So i guess i make a mistake with the bones

    see ya

Whoa! Your sculpts make me tingly. I really like the subtle forms you build up in them, it keeps them really fleshy and visceral. What's your technique for that? It looks like a slow overlapping build-up of soft strokes. Is that the case?

    Also, this sketch is awesome:

It's been real real long, so here's the motherload.

    MephistonX Thanks

kingkostas Sure thing buddy sorry i didn't reply for so long, I've been out of the loop a bit lately. This is the tutorial that I followed

    http://www.tutorialized.com/view/tut...-Rigging/55966

It's really basic but it did the job, then I just spent a long time painting the weights of each joint in maya.

HumbleEgo Aww thankyou, that comment made my day. I just use the claytubes brush alot to build up the forms, with an alpha that looks like a square, but fades from white in the centre to black at the edges. I also use the standard brush with lots of different alphas to carve in the detail.

Excellent 3d models, and I also like your 2D stuff as well. However, you may want to study composition and perspective when you get the chance.
