hey tobba! im buddha bear back as snow lion. went on a traveling hiatus and now am back on the site with the new name.

your sb is looking awesome. youve improved since i was last on the site. your characters are sweet. one tip with them though, try to get rid of the outlines. you dont have solid lines like a cartoon, but you have a sort of dark/soft outline around most of your figures or parts of them. id try to get rid of those completely, even if you like to use them as a guide while your painting. just an idea, everythings looking awesome though.

the recent studies are particularly cool. were those digital or pencil or ink?

Art and kindness are my weapons of choice.

That troll is now so different to the last time I saw it. Good job.

Dude you improved that troll a lot! Much better values. With this hatching stuff you might want to try making it a little more solid and close together, because it's not quite making the forms read yet. It just looks like lines. If you group your hard form and cast shadows, then the forms will start to read and we can get a better understanding of what's happening. Otherwise, keep on going, you're getting better!

Snow Lion: Thanks. I felt these outlines were necessary to get the form right, but
perhaps not. The studies are all in pencil

    Black Spot: Thanks!

    Pandah: Thanks!

Cdejong: Thanks. I'm working on the hatching stuff

I'm a firm believer in having fun while studying. Can you make those lions do something silly? It's a great way of finding how much you learnt.

    Grandmassa, THANKS

    Kevin, Thank you too

    Pandah, and you!

Black Spot, Yeah. I did a few sketches of lions in action... Didn't feel they were worth showing though. The study was mainly for my secret santa gift, so I can't show it just yet

Here are a couple of elephants on the savannah. Supposed to be a christmas gift for my great aunt... Didn't really have time to research elephants a lot since it'll be sent by mail tomorrow. But it turned out all right I guess.

Also a study of some rocks... All those stones drove me crazy tho so I think it's done now

    And also some skribblish thingie

The lion on the left - not sure the front leg bends quite like that. Look back at your study. Fun pic though.

The photo study of the rocks is nice... the elephants are pretty good too, although they seem a little too light to me, elephants have darker skin no?

The sketch is interesting, there are some proportion issues if you compare the guys two arms, but other than that it's an interesting style.

    Keep it up

Yeah. Well, the lion pic was mostly just a quick scribble.. Didn't really put alot of time into that.

And the elephants, yeah. Probably could have made them darker...

Here are a couple of more things, a lizard in water color from a photo and some bridgeman hands...

Cdejong: If you say so... ;P

Trex: Cool that you like it

    An eagle head from photo...

Also a watercolor cover for P.O.W. The first one is the original. But then I realized I messed up the proportions of it, and even misspelled the title... so I had to crop it.

Nice eagle... as far as the comic/book cover, one thing that stood out to me right away was the gun and how it was shooting. The perspective is really weird, because according to the direction of the gun the shot should be fired upwards, in front of the flying lizard thing... instead it is hitting the lizard. The gun needs to be tilted more downward towards the flying lizard. Other than that, it looks alright. I know I have nowhere near the ability to handle watercolors like that, mine always look like sludge on the paper.

    Keep it up man

I like the way you brought the water colour study of the lizard into your composition. That's a great eagle head. Water colour is really your medium.

Sorry for not updating in a while...

Cdejong: I see what you mean about the perspective. Don't think there's much chance of fixing it now though. Watercolor is difficult, but it's all in the practice, as with everything

    Black Spot: Thanks

Pencilator: Bor i Eklanda. Typ på andra sidan Mölndal jämfört med FAA. Funderat på att söka dit men det är dyrt...

DStrax: Thanks for stopping by. Yes. I can see what you mean. I think I'll have to enforce the perspective more...

Here's an update of the prevoius cover. And a sketch for another one. And yeah, there're two t's in button...

The comic book cover reminded me of the old Mega Man cover for NES. I say this as a compliment

    Lion study also super cool.

hey, nice portrait! the cover is nice too, but there's something wrong with the perspective of the frontwheel. it seems to skew left, when it should stand straight up.

recent paitning is awesome. only crit: where the lower half of the upper body meets her shirt thing, its kind of an oddly perfect egg shape. if her shirt gets longer in the back then it makes sense, but regardless its throwing me off. maybe define the plane on her right side/ribcage with the edge of the shirt.

i think the bground looks good for the piece but depending on how finalized you want to make it you could add some dust/sand blowing in the air in the background and just refine the details. maybe even do some blur like where the heat hits the sand

    keep at it
