    TeaseTeaseTease.
    Gettin' close to October.

Heres my first real attempt at a digi painting after 6 months of not touching it . I'm really, really, really rusty... Fuck.
4 Hours 40 mins, PSCS3. Would have been 2 hours or so tops if the quick pencil sketch I did beforehand hadn't screwed up the proportions like crazy, heh. Should have spent more time on them. I'll upload the process video to youtube in a few hours hopefully.

On another note, there are some seriously good people in my age bracket who I think are absolutely fantastic and need to catch up to. Shit.. Here's a list of them off the top of my head:

    Algenpfleger (You're insane Hannes 0_0)
    Mitchell
    Archipelago
    Daniel C
    Farsh
    Mr. Delicious

As promised, here's the process video. 4.5 hours condensed into 6 minutes. I hope people don't feel sick because I flip the canvas a lot and it's sped up like crazy, hahah. Youtube was being retarded so I uploaded it to google video.

Thanks for the video man! Surprised to see you start in greyscale? D: Awesome job, though painting only one eye is kinda lame :>

Hello mate, very impressive work you've got here. And i'm in your list?!?! I'm incredibly flattered. That self portrait is really great, and that last painting is looking really good. Thanks for the process vid, always good to see how others work, given that i never start from grayscale, i have no idea how to color the image from B&W if i need to though. The vid was a little fast - it's a color layer right? I like the finished look of your brushstrokes also.

Great work so far, show us more!

great stuff! i like your skin tones!

    by the way: http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1221731361

20 mins for that is not too slow at all, if anything you are going too fast! sloooow doooown, its not a race!

being fast comes from years of experience and learning how to not make faults that are time consuming to correct... but you have to make those faults to learn from them in the first place!

    cheers

I love your digital work! The way do skin and flesh is just fantastic. Your recent one is pretty darn good for someone who's been 'up in the mountains' for four months.

Now, why don't you all do us a favor and update with your trad stuff? And soon? Hehe.

carlosranna: We're all around 19-21 hahah.
algenpfleger: Yo, no probs. I used to start in colour but these days greyscale seems like the best and most logical choice. Leave the unpainted eye alone heheh.
kidult: Thats how I like my women, mmmmm! hahah Nah that's the texture showing through that I overlayed at the start of the painting, came out a bit strong there, lol.
Farsh: Yo jason, get your ass back on msn lol.
Archipelago: Hey, thanks You're right it isn't a race, I used to be pretty harsh with myself, these days not so much.
    shamandalie: Thanks heheh
Socks: Thanks I'll update from now on.

Blurgh, so many things happening. I've decided from now that I'm just going to not use Painter until version XI comes out because seriously, it's just so screwy with some things. Jason, you almost got me back into it but then layers and some bugs just got to me again :/.

So anyway, I'm back and I'll be posting again from today. So I'll start by posting what I did today. Sorry about the quality, there's no way in hell that I'm gonna scan and clean all my studies (They're all A3!!!) so I just used the digital camera for everything. If I have A4 stuff I wanna show I'll scan it.

    Todays update:
    *15x Figure + anat studies
    * 5x 2 min studies
    * 1x quick speedpaint in Painter (the last thing I'll do in Painter till XI comes out)

P.S. Does anyone know how I can just post the pics in this text area? Instead of them appearing all below the text.

yeah, you should use the little paperclip icon in advanced edit mode and the previously added attachments will be inserted.
(I knew it from Farsh and now I share this precious piece of info too... the power of a helpful community...)

I like your figures, they're nice and clean, the speedpainting too...
I'm in a hurry now, but I will come again

    Funky shit, lol, prodigy ftw.

For painter, i'm still not completely sold on it, so normally i switch between both programs rather often while doing a piece.
I've started remodeling my timetable around yours, but goddamn, those studies are looking loose and good and plentiful. Face is really great too. I hope i can grind as much as that tonight. And no worries about image quality or smudginess, we aren't anal about that, except for hannes^, because he's a prick and everything he does has to be picture perfect =P. Yeah, hope this is the first of some great regular updates!

Didn't want to disturb you on msn earlier, but i've got some stuff to pester you about. Since you're asleep now, i'll bug you in the morning.

    Later man

Jason: What are you doing reading this? GO WORK! heheh jk man

Something is up with me recently... just not clicking with things.. :/ Man, I wasted a hell of a lot of time screwing around with painter these past few days too figuring out things. Oh yeah Justin Sweet inspired me to keep going with Painter, blurgh..

    Back by unpopular demand!

Herman(openanewworld) convinced me to start posting in my SB again so here I am! There will be regular updates from now on I promise ><. Went to the Workshop in NZ with Jason (Farsh) and met some cool people and had a blast, but that's another story heheh.

Some quick portrait crap, trying to sharpen my eye.
