cool concept dude! I have a few suggestions, heres a quick paintover.
I upped the contrast a bit. maybe you need to calibrate your screen, that was my problem at leastI also made the hollogram more bright. you can do that with overlay layers or just paint it. the latter is hardest. I think his axe is a bit small, as you can see I tried to fix it
not my best work.

Nice to see some improvement since I was last here. I know life can be complicated with a family and a job. Just keep working hard.
Thanks for the support Blackspot.
Havent made anything for a while, here are some scribbles, i try to pay attention to proportions as much as i can, though it can be hard to use what i studied on imagination stuff. (going back to my paper sketchbook)
Pencil studies, i had to use this stupid posterize thingy on CS as the photos i took of my sketchbook were too bad.
Oh sweet anatomy practise mate. It's looking very good, make sure to keep it up and never have slack days, your anatomy is super important
Good work on the characters! I really dig the high fantasy feel, it's one of my favourite genres!

This one is cool, but your colors are a bit flat. I understand that the metal is glowing but it doesn't feel warm

AlexTooth -> Thanks for passing by and thanks for the kind word, i'm trying to take my pencil at least once a day, even if it's only for 10 or 20 mins, sometimes it's better for me to leave a sketch unfinished sometimes it helps me see mistakes i didn't see before. And yeah anatomy is a very long way for me, but well drawing is relaxing and i love it
Dstrax -> Hi buddy, indeed trying to play with colors i ended up with some greyinsh flat shapes here and there and you're right there is no sense of warmth on the metal, i got to think more about what the situation in an illustration implies in term of physics. Thanks for the comment anyway.
Here are two more sketchings, will try to have my scanner working it's so annoying to have to work on the photo's contrast to have "decent" result.
Anatomy sketches next time.
Gotta concentrate on shape form and proportions, i'm getting too distracted by details lately.
Hi again and thanks for answering my question way back in #140. I looked up Giovanni Battista Tiepolo...and love his work.
Last semester I took Art History Gothic to Contemporary and it's interesting to see how many amazing artists are "fogotten" by the art history establishment.
It's great to see you continuing with all the life/anatomy study!

Your pencil work looks good, but right now your digitals could use some work, I think.
I think your biggest problem right now is that you're seeing everything in local colour, marginally affected by various lights. The truth is: everything is lit. It's not the thing that we see, but the light. Our eyes are capable only of perceiving light, so when we look at a person, we are actually looking at light bouncing off that person. So everything is at once affected by the light sources and atmosphere, albeit in different degrees. This is all very basic, of course; I apologise if you find it redundant.
Anyway, maybe it was a bit too abstract, but I feel if I try anything more specific right now, I might be giving a crit horribly off the mark. Feel free to ignore what I said. Best of luck with your art.
your pencils look really good, looks like you know what you're doing and where to go. I would suggest similar as above guy, try some color studies, it doesn't even have to be digital. color can add so much to a piece![]()
Hey you! Yes, you! Crit me!

Feel free to shoot me a pm anytime~
Good work, man. It's taking you a while and a lot of effort, and when you do make effort, it shows.
You're getting plenty of advice in here... all I will add to it is just to work hard for understanding... in whatever you're studying. If you understand it, you can reproduce it.
Keep up the hard work.
drawings looking good! I got no crits this time just what you said![]()

Jephyr X Thanks pal, i still have a very long wy to go with my anatomy, it's kind of a neverending journey and it's very exciting to always discover new stuff and undertsand what i'm doing wrong.
Vritra Thanks a very lot for those explanations, you're absolutly right i tend to try to go find an easy way(which is a wrong one of course) for coloring and yeah my digital sucks i got to focus on still life color studies and understand how and why such color happen to be here or there. Don't be afraid to tell me more about colouring and anyway i'm going to get a colour theory book soon, i hope i'll understand some more things.
cloudcan Hehe yeah i 'm going to get back to colors one day but i feel i got to focus and consolidate what i thnik i learnt lately before that, if the drawing isn't good the color won't do and make up for the mistakes and i'll loose more time correcting tha drawing mistakes than thinking about the lighting and form and color scheme ^^ (or so i think)
p sage Thanks man for the kind words it's very encouraging, understanding is the key i'll remember that!
DStraX Thanks a lot DStrax, there are so many things to concentrate on, i got to unleash my energy and keep the track!
nice work with all the studies lately! keep em comingJust try to balance them a bit more. the way they are now some of them look like they are about to fall over

Tanks DStraX for the comment, indeed i got to put attention to the balance of my characters , and in the balance of my pictures as well i guess, here are some more (had a lot of work lately so that's the only crap that went up, satisfied in some ways , dissatisfied in some others).
The digital pic is a wip of course.
Hey, there are some nice studies in here! I like the fact that you draw clothing a lot too, I find that more people should do that in addition to drawing the figure. Nice work!
5 stars! Merry christmas! *****
Thanks a lot Jai Kamat and Dark Eyes!
I haven't posted anything for a while, in fact i've been slacking off as always, so well no color study, my knowledge about colors hasn't improved one bit but maybe i learned one thing or two while watching things carefully and trying to understand "why"
Anyway here are some scribbles, some from imagination some from photo ref other from ref hiroaki hashimoto (worked for snk on king of fighters).
And my current CHOw entry (nothing noticeable, i didn't challenge myself on a complicated lighting, just wanted to use photoshop once this month and focus on blending and producing something with clean edges)
seems i have again to deal with a big issue, i'm again putting details before form, need to work on it, it often bring mistakes on my faces i have to correct afterwards thus a loss of time.
great stuff man, and that sword chick is rockin!
hi! Your pencil works are very nice! especially the arms and such, very smooth and natural looking. I do agree with others though that your colors could use some work. For example, on your last piece, I feel the lovely lady could use a little more color in her complexion as her skin is looking a little monotone. The sword and armor though? excellent. : )
i have to also agree with other people and dizzy about your paintings. the dwarf-like guy with an axe and the blacksmith lady look really neat! try to go into that direction and thank you for giving me a crit in my sb![]()
keep doing the hard work dude, it pays of

Thanks a lot everyone!
I'm trying to think the color stuff over as i don't get the time to practice lately.
The color studies will be the key if i shake my lazy butt and tackle them.
Here are usual sketches and a wip, a few changes are already on the way.
very very good
very very good.
Nice work in here. I like your traditional sketches. They seem very relaxed and loose.
Thanks a lot Art01 and JJacks.
Here are some more.
