Last Man Standing 3 - FINAL ROUND
This is it, ladies and gentlemen. For those of you who have followed along and participated throughout the last 4 rounds, here is the payoff. Only 6 of conceptart.org's finest remain out of the starting 360 contenders. It goes without saying that this is a massive achievement, and a congratulations is in order for each and every one of them.
The complete listing of LMS3 Final Round matches can be found here:
Deadline: 11:59pm PST - Sunday, September 14th, 2008
Topic: The Bitter End
The topic, as always, is completely open to interpretation, allowing for you to visualize your concept through any subject matter you deem fit. This is an illustration-based contest, and you will be expected to turn in a completed piece that stands on its own without the aid of a description. Both traditional and digital mediums can be used, but the majority of your piece must be painted/drawn with little use of photography and 3D modeling.
Round Breakdown (links to discussion threads):
- Round 1 - 360 competitors in 72 matches of 5 / 72 advance
Entry threads / Matches 1-24 / 25-48 / 49-72
- Round 2 - 72 competitors in 18 matches of 4 / 18 advance
Entry thread / Matches 1-18
- Round 3 - 18 competitors in 6 matches of 3 / 6 advance
- Final Round - 6 men enter, one man leaves...
Judging: Every round will be judged by an incredibly talented group of judges... the list is still being finalized, but it will be a relatively static panel throughout the competition. Each piece will be judged based on technical execution, creativity in the interpretation of the topic, and overall impact. All judges decisions are final. No whining!
Dan Dos Santos
Important note about the thread layout:
There is one match in every post. The entries correspond as follows:
User1 vs User2 vs User3 vs User4
Image1 is User1
Image2 is User2
Image3 is User3
Image4 is User4
Enjoy the final round of Last Man Standing 3! The winner will be announced as soon as the final judging is in.

Congrats to All the finalists, its a real treat to see these. Many thanks to Strych9ine-for putting this all together! Can't wait till the next one , maybe I can actually make it passed round one next time!
Absolutely brilliant to see the outcome of this mammoth art contest, and it totally doesn't disappoint. They're all brill, hard to pick a fav, glad I'm not judging it. Hurri's entry really hits the spot instantly, and I love that Bluefooted continued the theme from her previous entry.. Beautiful atmosphere in thoms... kudos to him for using such sunny colours.. makes the impact of whats happening more extreme. Baron's has the unmistakable texture to his again.. and a slight overtone of humour that I love. Cicinimo's was the one I stared at longest. I love it when artists can capture such a deep emotion on a human face... a big challenge to take on a topic like that solely through the human emotion, but it works so well. And spraynation's is all kinds of epic... love the mood.
Fabulous work from all contenders, i really don't envy the judges. At all.
Amazing entries!! I love all of the concepts but the only one that is really polished IMO is bluefooted's piece. The rest just need some more fit and finish. Excellent work on all of these.
Congraulations finalists, great turn out by all. Well done everyone who entered into yet another great LMS.
Cheers Cody for giving us a great excuse to sharpen our pencils and push each other to new heights.
Wow. These are all great pieces. And so many takes on the prompt. Good luck judging.

pld: Omg, this is so awesome!
Thank you so much strych9ine for making this possible! And many thanks to the artists for this great entertainment!
This will be painful..

Oh my!!! Thats some of the best stuff I have ever seen!!! I feel so sorry for those poor judges!!
One does not simply walk into the LMS and expect a clear winner to be revealed. Damn, so different and so very impressive, each and every one of them. Good luck to all of you. And while I'm at it, good luck to the judges.
Holy monkey shit those are good.
I'm happy with 6th place, though. Next time, you guys, you just see...
Thanks to Cody for the monster amount of work he's put in - you don't often see that level of commitment - and to the judges for giving up their free time to make it work
wow! nice work guys!
Seeing those artwork made me feel really happy!
