Great new sketch Bingo! I see you're sticking with the tentacle theme

Any particular background for this piece?

    super start

super solid start mister you pencil work is really good and you need to translate that into your colour work, this maybe helpful:
    http://idrawgirls.blogspot.com/2008/...tman-dark.html
and use the opacity control and build the colour up first. I learned loads from doing things in grey scale. It helps to you to understand the saturation and tone , and then it is simpler to add a blend layer for colour which you can change to your taste.
Take it easy for now mister and I look forward to seeing more.

The colour thing is, well ... bringing me down. I'll keep trying although I'm not having a lot of success ...

I think you need to play around with your layers abit more, make your line work layer into a multiply layer and paint in your value on a layer under it and then add the shadow layer top of that and then your light layer goes on top of your line and shadow layers if that makes sense. This keeps things less committed and more easily changed. Hope your well mister take it easy for now and dont you dare stop.

I'm hanging on your every word Ashab ... I really appreciate your advice and the time you take giving it. I'll keep banging away ... I find I end up spending too much time trying to get it to look"loose" rather than that happening as a natural by-product of the process. I think I suffer from not having a style ...

Once again thanks man ... you are AWESOME!

Very quick work up of one of the zombie sketches ... I've tried to keep it loose.

you got some crazy tentacle stuff going on here but it is interesting.
i like your characters but some places you need some anatomy. I think of muscle behavior mostly.

Good to see your still posting Tony - keep trying out those different techniques to see which one suits you. IMO, there's no right answer, just lots of them.

    Stay in touch old chap.

frettchen - thanks - as I'm sure you're aware it's not my strongest suit.
I am taking my time to try and improve though ... here's the latest update to the scary fang head ...

Harry_Palmer - thanks Neil, I appreciate you time and your comments, and of course I'll stay in touch ... in fact I'm watching you right now ... nice vest. I hope the world of freelance is treating you well, you're missed around the studio. Not by me of course, I was glad to see the back of you.

cakeypigdog - Cheers Jake, it's great to work in a studio where there are such talented artists to be inpsired by, I can look up from my screen and see a handful of truly talented guys who always have the time to offer advice and constructive criticism. You guys rock ... oh no ... my eyes are leaking again.

eparts - Yeah I it's my latest kick ... I guess I should move on ... but I just love them ... them and zombies ... maybe I should combine them into one crazy undead tentacled monster ... watch this space.

    MattGamer - Yeah ... yeah ... oh yeah ...

Bagg - Thank you, it always surprises me when people like my work! I have already had a go at painting the chap on the rock, unfortuantely I wasn't happy with the results. I may have another crack at it sometime.

This is the last update to this image as I think I've done enough, it's been great practise, but I'm growing a little bored with it. I need to move on.

    Cheers all for the support.
