I am glad you started a sketch book. Your work is lovely so far. Hope to see you update regularly.

Edit: Sorry I just had to laugh at the comment below a bit. Those eyes are so damn provocative

jedininjaman - Cheers... I've been a long time lurker - Finally got the balls to post some work here and hope to get some decent feedback - With luck , consistency and less procastintation i will be posting as often as commitments will allow-

lithiumdawn - Thanks, i appreciate anybody who takes the time to look or even comment- there is always room for improvement/we never stop learning -

seth1 - "I am glad you started a sketch book. Your work is lovely so far. Hope to see you update regularly.

Thanks alot man, are you refering to the picture 'want/ing and have/ing' eyes...the one with the crow and feather? - If so then, thanks alot - This was based on a pic i took of myself after a bunch of bad sh*t that happened in my personal life....and then i drew this - the question was "Fight or Flight?"

He he...I'm sure i'll get better...

Below is a page from one of My side projects that i run called '4 Words For Paper'
Idea behind the project is - You get 4 words(sent by me), you have to come up with something paper based that you can send via snail mail that fits within the A4-A3 sizing - this is the first 'book/journal' that i made...if interested i will post more

Yes, it was leaning towards your Sp, but all the eyes you draw are really intriguing. So what did you end up doing. Fight, or Flight? I hoped it's working its self out.

On this latest one I love how creative you are being. There is so much thought behind your drawings something I need to do more of. I am not sure if this is any thing but the skin comming off the pinkie looks out of place. I am not really understanding where it's comming from.

Keep up the good work miss.

Seth1- I'm still here...so i chose fight and as much as something can work itself out without your not actually having any say in the end result then yes...it has worked itself out, time usually makes decision that for you-
And the pinkie is off kilter...but this is a really small piece (19cm x 8cm est Inc cardboard frame) and i was pushed for time to finish it...but yeah, i agree-

Well I hope you continue fighting and moving on. Not sure if I agree with time making decision for you, as you are your own person in with who can make there own destiny. Your art is truly an inspiration to me. Some thing with your figures just does it for me. Still trying to decide what it's, I think a big part of it is how emotive they are. It's like a part of you is trying to reach out but can not fully understand how to do so. Maybe the abstract elements are the frustration with in or it could be you have such a vast out look on life you tell story's in your own mind with them.

    Keep the sketches comming.

Jedi - cheers - the answer to your question is a bit of a mathmatical one - hold on, here we go! ...Generally- the project that these were made for have an alotted time of 1 month....but...since i am the co-ordinator + i procastinate + most of these art books are 4 pages Not 6 (there were 12 projects for the 1st round, we are now into our 2nd round) that = (4 divided by 30 days of the month - procrastination((2 weeks worth)) = 2weeks - reality = 1 week
so 1 week generally to get it all done...from idea to conceptualization to a couple of hours a night till its done -
so a card usually takes about an hour to make but for the ideas...about a week...sketches etc - i usually just make it up as i go - cut and paste sorta thing - i have made some in less time -
here are some more from the 1st round-
Project 7 - the words were - "loves, Tangent, void, horizon"

Hey seth - yes the almighty sk8 deck - i did that one for an exhibition called 'I used to skate once too' - and it was generally for peeps who...well, as the title said - it is currently on my wall and i am looking into getting some made - haha, send one for free...really....moving along - the stories behind my work...well it's all pretty much about finding that language that goes back to god or time or energy....dna is god, so i guess i am trying to find all the info that was there once and has linked me here...nothing is lost...just missplaced-
on a lighter note - some times i have no real intention...i just let go- and look back later and find that it makes sense - like the subconcious i is directing the me here now i - make sense? -
specifically i give a story now, yes - for example - the picture of the elephant - his name is 'Harken' he is best friends with a rhino called 'Sullen' - and they hang out in the desert looking for kicks so to speak -
Sullen is the form of grief i use in my book - the series goes -
pic 1 - rhino is carrying grief
Pic 2 - rhino finds me
pic 3 - grief attaches it self to me
pic 4 - transforms and i look for a way out - there is more to the story and more pics - rah de rah

    Questions?

You definitely have your own style. Is this a study, series, or a phase you're going through? I do like it, regardless. I am just wondering what inspires you to use that particular style of tattooing (seems tribal in a sense)? Very nice, overall.

Anyways, looks like you're having fun and I'm inspired by your work. Keep it up

thanks immortal - i use a variety of styles, hard to pin down what i'm doing - what ever comes out - these days i'm trying to loosen up a bit more - i tend to get lost in detail - down the rabbit hole so to speak -
I have done some tattoo stuff, flash design and worked with a tattooist on custom design - i see what you mean about the tribal thing but i don't really try to be tribal as most tribal is done by white guys that think they're the shit and it just comes out lame...so i steer away from that end of things - just my opinion...
Nice to see my powers are working for good and not evil - hope it keeps inspiring you as i will be posting lots more work

Merdman - cheers, thanks for taking a peek

The skate-deck is prefect for me then, because "I used to skate once too" haha. I skateboarded for around 6 years maybe more. I still skate once and awhile when I want to scare my self. I love the Idea, and you defiantly put an interesting spin to it. Really amazing what your mind can stir up, it's an endless road with no boundaries and your work shows this. This latest pencil sketch is great Not to much information but enough to keep the flow.

Your two sketches look great. Your shading technique is definitely noticeable, but like you said, it was a "'meh' night."

The more I study the oriental guy, the more I tend to think his right arm (or maybe his left arm) is weird. If you don't see it, it's probably me then

    Keep it up, cheers!

    Greif series bigger as follows
pic 1 - "Sullen and his Burden" -
    size - A3
Medium - Graphite (Mechanical pencil) on 220gsm Paper...i think -
    Time - 5-6 hours
Idea/story - sullen the rhino carries the grief across the 'desert' looking for the one it belongs to- all key points are basically just symbols at this point in the story-

Jedi - cheers, have to keep an eye on you now

Seth - yes 'meh' sketches, will try to post non meh sketches in the future...i used to skate alot when i was like 10 upwards, then other interests prevailed - the exhibition itself had about 40 artists in all, using differing techniques to put image on deck...there was this one guy who just stuck a butchers bag on the front of his deck...and then had the hide to ask for $400 for it.... he was so cool...

Immortal - yes weird arm ! - he does - i have been doing these sketches late at night with pretty bad lighting...but that shouldn't be an excuse....but 'meh'

Vroom. You're amazing. I hate people when they try to get away with tings like that.
