It is quite likely that there are people in Shanghi that used to be on CA. However, last month (I think) there were massive amounts of PM Spammings comming out of China that forced Davi (I think) to ban most of China. Very unfortunate, but it was overwhelming the site.

pm Jason Manley...he is the CEO of Massive Black and Massive Black Shanghai and will be able to provide you all of the answers you seek. As far as I know, MB Shanghai is still running strong.

i really don't think it was the bannings that resulted in a lack of responses to this thread...

I'm in china and I have no problems visiting CA.

I think it could be one of two things ( or both)

    1. the chinese CA people who can communicate in English haven't visited this
    thread.

    2. most of the local Shanghai CA groups communicate in their local dialect
( either the native Shanghai dialect or Putonghua) and therefore did not read this thread.

Too bad I'm too far away to give you love man!

and Tensai is in guangzhou I think...he is nearer to Shenzhen though ( thats where I am)

It would take both of us a three hour flight to get to Shanghai...
    so that's out.

You could drop in on the MB shanghai office if you really want to meet them,
but that depends on which part of Shanghai you'll actually be staying.
It could be a ten minute walk or a 4 hour drive..
( Shanghai is China's largest city after all, and in China, cities tend to be huge, damn HUGE)
Best of luck in finding CA peeps, I'm sure you'll find some in Shanghai
    once you get there.

MB shanghai is just fine. i don't know exactly why nobody has responded to you, aside maybe from the fact that they are all soooper busy right now....

also, i'm pretty sure china has not been banned here. of course i could be wrong, but it would seem like a pretty stupid/counter productive move to do somehting like that. id trust that our mods wouldnt exclude such a large potential user base of talented artists because of a few spammers.

just keep tryin. ill ask on my end and see if i can get anyone to respond.

    hugs

    whew!!!! massive sigh of relief

thanks so much guys... i didn't realize how much this site meant to me till
i thought id lost it.. i kinda freaked out.

CORO: thanks for the info! super busy is good.
any advice you hear through the grapevine would do me a world of good...even tiny tidbits n' crumbs would be wonderful.
as an aside: ironically it is through your personal site that i discovered CA, nice one.

    the ANGRY filipino:

man i have a lot to learn! about the local culture....i assumed, of course, that a language barrier was a strong possibility here.

luckily i have a ton of english speaking friends out there ( locals and European expats ) to guide this mexican, whiteboy around town.

id love to drop in on MB for a field trip..if that isn't frowned upon. ill try to get a good sense of the protocol before i drop in.

    sundance:
    thanks, yeah i pm-ed jason.
id love to hear any advice he may have, although as CORO mentioned they may be swamped... i know how that is.

    wish me luck...
