soooo.... you're saying kids all over the world are smiling because the twin towers were destroyed?
or are you saying they're behind it and thats why they're smiling?

i just dont understand the symbolism here.
maybe if the photos were of the family members of people who DIED on 9/11, crying their eyes out, then it might make a little sense...

    but children?
    smiling?
i dont get it. children aren't THAT evil.

i might be though... i personally feel that we should kill a hundred million people from each of the major continents just to save the fucking earth from destruction.
in fact, i think thats the only way to save the earth.
funny thing is, you kill 700million people on earth, you still have a few billion people left.

all this image says to me is that you dont understand shit.
that you're one of those low lifes cashing in on 9/11, trying to get some attention.
i dont think you're genuine at all.

besides, i get the feeling this was generated by some mosaic making program. and if it was, i dont think its art at all.

    but thats just my opinion.

I just need to quote this, without adding any other comment, because I was thinking the same exact thing.

While I agree, I think you are missing the point. Even if he was poking fun and was an idiot, who cares? Shock art isn't new. Besides, do you really think they meant it that way? Come on.

The real problem is as you mentioned, how it just looks generated by a website/program. Also, it defeats the purpose of the mosaic which traditionally would be done using material that were already one color or another. When I look at this piece I only find that you managed to alter pictures to 'fit' that color and paste overtop a pre-existing picture.

I don't think they meant this as "shock art."

I think they are honestly clueless.

I know that they didn't. I was pointing out that we should be focusing on the art instead of how ignorant someone may be, since I highly doubt they meant it to offend. It was pretty evident in this case.

    Ah, I see.

    Carry on ;P

Did anyone else notice that this particular easy mosaic creation is featured on the site? The fact that this thing even exists is disconcerting, but if he is, in fact, just posting it as a pass-along from the web site... well, I may just shoot myself.

You did not notice it, It is not the old tower.
the light tower is a rebuild one,we read it as a symbol of new world.
kids are new generation, they are your future, they should smile.

you do not want many sad faces for a new world, do you?

say again, it does not mean destruction.
    The idea is,
create a smiling new world is the best memorial.

not fucking killing 1 billion people.
well, you have your own mind, do it if it makes you fell happy.

This is a mess on every level:
    1. It's easily misinterpreted (see above)
    2. even when not misinterpreted, it's tacky/trite/banal/vulgar/kitsch/etc etc etc
    3. It was done with automatic photomosaic program
    4. It's not even a proper photomosaic program
    and finally...
    5. The whole thing could be considered promotion for the above mentioned crappy photomosaic program.

Everybody should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for even responding to this thread, including myself.

    CLOSED, out of respect.
