For some reason I can imagine hearing Morgan Freeman's voice coming out of this blue guy lol.

xenoart5, I would have thought grunting noises for the blue guy, or something deeper and throatier than Morgan Freeman, but to each his own.

Velocity Kendall, here are a few touch ups to the tan hybrid/alien guy. I may want to sharpen and darken the edges, to make the lines more obvious. Again, this is not a specific being. It is based on an original painting by another artist named Alberto Forgione. I changed the features quite a bit though.

Revisiting Captain. He is a big, muscular reptilian scientist, somewhere around 7.5 to 8 ft. tall, with a thick neck. He physically visited a woman back in 1991 and 1992. Since then he pretty much just comes in astral form, and through meditation and dreams. I'm still trying to get the lighting and definition of the neck muscles and tendons right. I cheated by borrowing textures from a concept design of the "Lizard" character that Jerad S Marantz did for The Amazing Spider-Man. This helped me give him a slightly more 3D look and made his nose look a little bit more reptilian. I think the current version is more accurate than my previous version in that regard.

I'm having some trouble getting the colors right. In life his basic color varies from dark coffee bean brown to nearly black. I am not sure if it is just differences in ambient lighting or an actual change in the color of his skin that accounted for the perceived difference in his overall coloration during his different visits to the witness. My trouble involves making him look 3D, and easy enough to see on the page/screen, while still making the colors dark enough to be accurate. I had this same problem with "Vectra" who is a dark, muddy-colored, greenish brown reptilian, also very muscular but not quite as big as Captain.

For this version of Captain's portrait I made his eyes slightly lighter than my previous one. His irises can change color from yellow-gold to reddish orange. I assume this has to do with chromatophores responding to changes in his mood.

    Thank you, xenoart5.

Look! I've done a tiny bit more (i.e., the scales on the face).

Captain is one of the most handsome 7.5 to 8 ft. tall reptilians out there. Actually, I'm thinking he may be closer to 7.5 ft. than 8 ft. tall, when I used to think he was over 8 ft. in height. Further interaction with the witness and examination of her memories may clarify this further. It appears that he hasn't been seen in the flesh in a human environment (i.e., house) with familiar reference objects since 1992, and in determining the height of any reptilian or other alien being, it is helpful when they show up in a familiar environment where one can use a tape measure after the fact. Of course, often the memory of body position, such as the distance you stood from him and angle you had to look up at him to see his eyes, is helpful, even if one does not have reference objects to measure.

Changing his iris color from the fiery orange to more yellow gold, because he can do that. Chromatophores at work, perhaps. Also did a little more detailing with the scales, and adjusted his neck slightly. Getting the neck muscles right seems to be one of the hardest parts.

A bit more detailing and refining of the scales, mostly on the forehead, nose bridge, cheek bones and brow ridges. He's such a handsome reptilian.

Great progress. I like this effect, but It could be a bit milder for my taste. Just a little more fill light on the right would do it for me.

Yea, that's it. Thanks. Are you planning to change it's color (into brown-black), this version has a lot of green tones in it.

Yea, probably like that, but I don't know how he is supposed to look like. You know best how he was described to you. As I understood it, the color was between black and brown.

x145b, I love what you've done with him.

skishyish, thank you for your continued interest.

I will revisit the new Captain portrait later. And yes, he is supposed to be black/brown, without any green tones (except maybe some in the lighter cream-colored areas like his abdomen, inner thighs, and under his arms).

Here I am revisiting a Gray alien that appears on page 56 of A Visual Guide to Alien Beings.

Very nice images. I do say I think "Captain" the coffee colored one is my favorite. Thank you for sharing.

I got a new monitor and the color calibration is different. What looked blue on my laptop screen looks purple on the new monitor. All the purples and reds are much more saturated on the new screen. I've played around with some settings, but I think I'll just have to get used to the new screen, which is now my primary. In any case, if you notice a difference in the background color of these two images, that corresponds approximately to the difference in how the colors display on my screens. I'm looking at this on my new screen. The first image has a purplish background and the other has more or less the same shade of blue that the first one had on my laptop.
