GHill- Those detailed drawings are the most fun I have.
destinyapocalypse- SQWUEEEEE! heh, thanks for stopping by.

I went to the Renaissance Festival today for Mother's Day. My step brother is big into dressing up and such. I've always considered myself to be a pretty open person, and I have a fair amount of odd social quirks, but this was to much for me. I think I might of been able to make it through if I was under some sort of substance abuse.

I did get one sketch in, I wanted to do more, but having jesters and squires and pixies all shouting out LORDS AND LADIES!!! HOOOTIE DOOOTIES!!!! WEDELDIOLIOLIOLIO!!!!

Sorry. Anyways, art. And an update on the color WIP. I'm getting to the point with this project where I'm getting disgusted with the art. I really skimped on a lot of the drawings and it really bugs me now.

I like your style. But I also agree with some that if you improve on your core foundation skills then this style might be enhanced; and who knows you might learn a new style along the way which you like better.

Rist- It's funny that in the constant move forward you have to start back at the beginning over and over.

My schedule has changed recently, I'm employed again, so my body is kind of going crazy getting used to waking up early again. I have been working on art, mostly stuff for my show. Here's one of the WIPs. Its a collab between the guy who got me the show and myself. Not sure exactly where I want to take this, but it's been fun.

Insane! Love how intricate it is. If there is something I hate doing, it's inking because it looks technical when I do it. But yours have so much life and organic. I can't even comprehend the focus to make one of these. Beautiful job, man!
    Welcome to the group!

I'll say INSANE again, because it really is

meduza- heh, I felt like I was going insane when I was doing the wall drawings. Something about scribbling mindlessly in every direction around you eventually becomes mind numbing. Thanks for the welcome.
    OmertA- Thanks, see you then.

I'm trying to get an entry done for this weeks COW.

That is awesome. I love the way you can organize your scribbles into such coherent structures.

Hootie Doooties indeed my friend. Man, I love #81 & 84 because that color is breathtaking and the other one looks like you are breaking some new ground. Re: the "skimping" when that happens to me, it is time to dig down for that extra reserve of emotional content and take my head ache back to the board. I slap some vellum over it and passionately draw what I feel it should be. Sometimes, I find that a few minor adjustments can be made in the context of what I already have and it can add new life to the work. Other times, I trash the first version and complete a new, fresh one.
It is so cool to see your progression.

thanks for the prodpoke, had some stuff piling up and kept neglecting to scanz.

i think the color on the panel came out nicely. There are some interesting additions of warm and cools I enjoy. Thats cool that your doing a show. Do a lot of promotion, as much as you can and get as many people as possible to show. Make posters and stuff.

    Are you selling work?

have to say it again, i love those large wall drawings and the small abstract color stuff you were doing.
Great CHOW! you always surprise me with your concepts. i worked on mine tonight, but it sucked so i deleted it. i'll start a new one tomorrow.

i have a suggestion about coloring your panels. the coloring of the one on the beach seems kinda tame, compared to the drawings and your crazy intricate style. try going nuts on the color, just to see where that might take you. or try the opposite with very subtle coloring to accentuate your line work.

gmc9987- Thanks, I'm actually starting to struggle with this one. I'm taking it in some new directions right now, because there's a few things I really dig about it, but the over all design I'm unhappy with.
EdwardC- I hope it's it does lead me somewhere. We'll see how it ends up.
Matsign- Glad to see you back. I'm going to put stuff up for sell, probably really cheap just so I can get rid of all the stuff and make room for more. I've had most of my fine art stuff for awhile now, always just leaned up in a corner or whatever.
Pets- Thanks, but I feel like I'm in the same boat. I worked more on the beach coloring, I hope the bottom is a little more interesting.

As I said, more of the beach. I plan on adding a little more warm colors to the left figure, and of course paint in the other guy.

the top frame looks great, i can see the changes you made.
the bottom frame looks cool, for some reason i love that strip of purple on the can haha. think its something you want to pursue?
i didn't mean to sound like the other coloring was uninteresting, just thought you might want to play around with different styles of coloring.

The Beard- Just checked out your thread, and your COW for this week, and it some how solved so many questions and troubles I had with my own. At least, I knew a direction to take it, I'm not sure how well its selling. I hope I can finish it in time!
