thanks for all the comments guys

i kicked up the contrast. the original image is very small for somereason...

its newsprint and graphite+some white charcoal/chalk stuff.

alot of the darks are made up in the image because i was a bit ahead of the rest of the class and the lighting wasnt set up for it. so yeah

Dang man, nice stuff. Try and cut out the silhouette of the bear head more on the last painting, you've got such a nice area for some strong counter change.

    muted tones make me smile.

i like the energy and you compositional understanding. I guess you could spot your highlights a little better to show the focus and add some depth. but then again, this is a sketchbook not a finished thread

Hey man, your new stuff is fucking great. Really loving these characters (and everything else too haha). My only crit is that now that you have atmosphere and textures down, and can make a nice painting, try studying structure and form more. I think with a bit better knowledge of structure and how to show it your paintings would be able to reach a whole new level.

Anyhow, as for life drawing, I go to the Sandy Hill one on Wednesdays. I should be there tomorrow, so if you go to it maybe we can meet. If you are looking for more life drawing, there is also a session being run on Fridays at Ottawa U...I haven't been in a while to that one, but if you go to the Sandy Hill sessions some of the guys who go there run it and you can find out more from them. That one has shorter poses though, like mostly 5's and 10's from what I remember (although I think they change up how they do it week to week slightly).
