Nice sketchbook!! I especially like this one: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1285296292
It looks like it was drawn pretty fast, but the composition is nice and the black cloud over that castle or whatever just looks cool.
Also this character looks awesome: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1286211184
Did u use a brush or something to get that texture on the lighting on his waist? it looks great. Anyway, keep it up! 5 stars for u.

Newest could turn out really nice. Try PUSHING it further. Really go for it. It could be immense. For example, try play with edges to create interest and describe forms. Get a simple background going. For some reason I imagine this little dude on a throne with some elaborate picture frames behind. You should try create something finished!

love your sketches man.. all the looseness just feels so natural. I think the most important thing that comes thru is how you just enjoy them.

I feel really bad saying this, but I think I prefer your initial sketch on this one more than the final.

I think it is something about the head. The final version tightened up some of the edges, but I liked how soft they were before and how they kind of got lost in the background almost. And then on the final version there is also a lot of texture on the head. I think it works better without it. The smoothness in the first version was much more effective and contrasted with the texture of the rest of the image helping it to really pop (in addition to having the little highlights give more punch without the texture).

Hello, it's your conscience again. Frontal light sources aren't very good when trying to get a 3dimensional look, but I'm sure you know this. Cast shadows help to reveal form too!

lovely work mate!!!The further detailing in the eye sockets draws me inside them.
Maybe u overdid it with the detailed areas(areas with clear visible texture) but ok maybe, because it seems to work as a whole
    keep up the great work!!!

    love you guys!

frasermct: definately some food for thought. its interesting because i wanted him to be super pale ( just like a ghost, ghost, ghost ) the lighting was a front and up kinda thing. I think i overdid the texture in its face though....

Nice stuff man! I think the lighting on that creepy doll thing works well, cropping the image in so the doll takes up more of the frame could help emphasize that up front lighting. Keep it up dude! like you said, I might knock back some of those textures on the face with a soft brush though. Cheers.

You're going to Algonquin? I thought you were accepted into Sheridan...I haven't heard much about the Algonquin program, except as a school it has gotten better over the past few years. Tell me how it goes!

And that was a long break. I was hoping for some art . Ah well, I'm sure the break was good for you. Now you need to give me more eyecandy.

Also if you are sticking around Ottawa we should get together for some sketching. I am a little busy for the next few weeks (school, exams, getting together portfolio for Sheridan etc) but if you give me a time I am sure I can squeeze in some time for it in between things.

Wait--you didn't draw for months and you pump out this? What is this? You are supposed to get worse when you don't draw, not better!
