Greetings, fellow pencil abusers! First off - viewer discretion is advised.
There really aren't many obsentities, but there are few dead'ish people and a little nudity.
Note! From now on I'll also post all my finished stuff in the 'finally finished' section.
My name's Christoffer. Born 1983. I'm an amature artist who simply wants to become better at what he does best - drawing stuff.
I was never blessed with a strong ambitious dream or anything, all I want is to reach a level of skill that I can make use of and go from there.
I've been around for a while now and the amount of incredible talent and dedication I've seen among you all is just amazing and inspiring to say the least.
I hope all you cool cats can help me improve enough to inspire others like me as well, so don't hesitate drop by to kick my ass as often as you like.
This first load of badly scanned sketches is a mixture of new and old. Most of them are from last year up to current time.
I'll be posting the oldest ones first so you guys can see how I've progressed through those years.
I know, it's ancient and I had no knowledge of anatomy at that time, but the face turned out pretty nice.
Never finished them.
An old WIPs.
My version of Cthulu
Here's a bunch of sketches I did while there was nothing to do at work.
The one on the left is actually the original design for my tattoo.
More recent stuff.
My versions of various DooM characters. Planning on doing more.
Stuff from my pocket sketchbook.
Saw Claymore the anime, loved it.
Yup, that's me.
Here's job I did for a friend of mine. He wanted me to design the cover for his demo. Designs and final results below.
Phew! That's it for now. Hope you guys enjoyed it.

Hey man you got some really cool stuff here. I dig your dragon concepts and those decaying corpses that proudly call themselves zombies. Oh and your comments on the side are freakin hilarious. I was actually lmao-in. The werewolf/ gnoll/ humanoid K9 with the pancakes is priceless =)). It reminds me of the Coke Light commercials: "I asked for Coke light and you insult me by serving me something else?!?!". And the "I'm not even ugly in a cool way" bit is also funny. I see some comic book illustrator potential here. I love the strip you did, and would like to see more of it. You have all the ingredients needed: funny punchlines and expressive character designs to go with it. So keep on harassing that pencil, because it will yield eventually...or else
who-ho ho thats some start for a sketchbook haha
nice sketches. You know what you gotta do and you're doing it, and thats good.In the pencil sketches the rendering is a bit "anonimus" you might wanna check out how other artist handle theirs in terms of crosshatching or whatever, do give it an extra kick.
You've draw a werewolf torso seen from above a few times, and each time you got something wrong in th shoulder construction i think...to correct that, use ref! take a pic of yourself or anyone in that position to see what is going on, and in that or any other case, if you still have some problems figuring it out, just bring on the construction studies.Cool work on some of the digis, especcially good work in the death/dark/brutal/whateverthefuckitis metal cover
now keep 'em coming *whip crackin'*
Galador - Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed them. Sometimes, whenever I draw something bad or whatever, I even feel like I should write a side-note explaning myself on what the hell I was thinking - the hand studie for eg. Hehe. Thanks again.
TheGnoll - Haha! Yeah, some start. Took a while to prepare everything. Most of my papers are A3 and my scanner's A4. So a lot of cutting and pasting had to be done. Thanks for the tip. I know what you mean with the rendering. My shading is very inconstant. Sometimes it's all over the place. I've tried crosshatching before and I'm still a little weak. I'll do some more studies of course, especially werewolf anatomy, hehe. About the cover art, it's death metal. Ruthless stuff. Big thanks!
nice sketching. congrats with cd cover.
you have a nice mixture or comic whimsical style a realistic shading.
your self portrait sketch could use a work over. that is a pic which requires a lot of light study. i recommend you starting with a darker base color and work on both lighter and darker values.
I really like your Chun Li and the bone studies. Great progress. Some of them seem kind of flat, maybe that´s because there isn´t really a defined lightsource. Nice cd cover!
Keep it up.
eparts -Thanks! Yea, the SP is a complete mess. I sort of lost my motivation half way through, hence the beard. Hehe. I think I'll start by doing grey scales before adding color from now on.
Lateman -And thank you for stopping by, yourself. I'll be watching your progress as well.
Mumph - Tjena! Läget är bara bra. Tack skarru ha. I'm too much of a pussy with the shading - either I can't make up my mind about it or I put too little into it. Need to be more agressive.
First update. Here's a bunch of my latest studies, oodles and doodles. First one is just couple of halfassed poses and a foot.
Been trying to get a better grip on hatching and combining it with some anatomy. Loomis and Vanderpoel references.
Update on Redhead wip. I'm still not happy with the face.
Here's a caricature of a good friend of mine. She was in a bad mood when she went on to her shift, so I took a picture with my phone and sent this to cheer her up. And yes, I was too discrete with the rendering - again.
Big amount of sketching. That's good.. i gotta do so too ;P Great job on that cd cover.
It all fits together nicely. Maybe do some color/value studies too.
That might help
Come visit my...
bra gerjjer du har här, kan bli nått om du fortsätter, bra att du gör studier, men glöm inte att göra lite studier på huvuden och ansikten också.
pandahund - Thanks, man! I suck at that stuff. I actually found one environement studie from half a year ago that I've decided to upload. Nothing serious though, it's just to see what people think. I'll do more of course. Love checking out other people's color studies.
Lotet - Tack ska du ha! Studierna kommer. Måste bara tvångsmotivera mig själv först.
Mischeviouslittleelf-Takk takk! Ska bli.
Okey sorry for not updating often enough. I'd really like to keep updating more regularly but I'm a very irregular person. hehe Funny...not. Anyway, here's just a couple of pics for now - in color. Wooh!
This first one is another CD-cover I'm working on.
It's far from finished but I'd like to see what you guys think about it. Crits and suggestions are welcome.
This is just some old enviro studie I recently dug up. Not so hot. Gave up it, or rather myself.
http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/6904/img0062qi2.jpg this one and the winnie the pooh one made me laugh x) .
the cd cover is bomb and your recent paintings are looking real nice! specially the tongue dude can't wait to see it finished, the details are spot on.
kelly x - Thanks, man!
SirJogs - Thank you! I like when artists put a sadistic twist on the cute and innocent.
The tounge demon is almost done. All I have to do now is figure out what kind of background I'm going to use.
Born - Thanks, Born! I will.
ALRIGHT! Next update. Not a huge one though. The CD-cover is nearing it's completion stages. It just needs some minor adjustments and a background. I'm thinking of a metal plate with aged blood splatter and of course a burning hot red:ish highlight from the bottom. I'm not sure how to pull it off though. What do you guys think, any tips or suggestions?
Here's just a boring doodle of some dead guy wrapped in tentacles. Enjoy.
LOL Pancakes. I love pancakes. Are you self taught?
GET BACK TO WORK! *cracking whip*
wow that last one is so cool looks very realistic ... the only thing i would change is the way, the blood comes out of the symbol. maybe you can make it a bit more patchy, cuase for now it looks like cables or such. apart from that: good work!
Lateman - Thanks, man! I was actually going for that thick darkened blood thing. And the guy I made it for is happy with the result anyway so I'm going to leave it as it is. There will be more opportunities for all kinds of blood. Hehe!
Okey, next update. Been doodling mostly and most of it is utter crap but I guess I should show that as well since I'm here to learn after all.
So...here's the crap.
I did manage to be a little productive since my last update though. The last ones are a couple of self portraits from ref.
That CD cover in the last update came out really great - love your use of colour and light. Last batch is good stuff too - though I'd like to see more tonal depth in those self portraits!
sinneart - Thank you, sinneart. Glad you like it. Regarding tonal depth - my scanner brightens things up quite a bit and I haven't found the right way to correct that yet but I'm working on it. That doesn't mean I won't try to get better at shading though.
Tiny creature update.
Great dedication and work!
Lol at that last comic thing you posted. Thats pretty good.
Good stuff man, keep up the studies. Do as many as you can, and try to get the full value range from your pencils. The last CD cover seems pretty good, but I feel like the background is too strong and is interfering with focal point, which would be the creature. It's sort of distracting from all the detail work you put into it. Keep it up though
nice new sketchbook! I sense you are advancing already on the first page. i suggest more perspective training. More advanced scenes with character in scene seems to look a bit flat.
thanks for dropping by my SB Keep filling this thread too
