Lol at that last comic thing you posted. Thats pretty good.
Good stuff man, keep up the studies. Do as many as you can, and try to get the full value range from your pencils. The last CD cover seems pretty good, but I feel like the background is too strong and is interfering with focal point, which would be the creature. It's sort of distracting from all the detail work you put into it. Keep it up though

nice new sketchbook! I sense you are advancing already on the first page. i suggest more perspective training. More advanced scenes with character in scene seems to look a bit flat.
thanks for dropping by my SB Keep filling this thread too

D@niel - Thank you so much. But to be fully honest, I don't feel I deserve the dedication part - I'm much too lazy.
Pyroclasm00 - Hehe! Thank you. It's a true story - unfortunately. About the CD-cover, yeah, I kind of figured that. I've cropped the image so that it should have a better fit for the square shaped cover paper. The background isn't as distracting, as the head of the demon covers most of the image now, but the details are still very sharp, which hopefully will look good once printed.
eparts - Thanks, eparts! I'll most definitely try. I'm still mostly working with the human anatomy as you'll see below, but I hope to start working on other studies soon.
I've been studying my copy of Anatomy For The Artist by Jeno Barcsay lately and this is what I've come up with so far.
Non ref. Ballpen.
Doodles from work.
Been playing Dead Space lately and damn, I'm impressed. This game totally rocks my socks. It's got such amazing atmosphere, music, soundFX and dialoge and the gameplay is rock solid. I love the mixture of the Alien/Event Horizon inspired architecture & lighting and the creatures which remind me of The Thing. This will keep me satisfied untill Resident Evil 5 is released. Anyway, I talk too much. Here's just a little doodle, inspired by the many variations of Necromorph (lame name but W/E) in the game.

A couple of studies from my book and gestures from pose maniacs. Please do tell me if something's off in the poses. I feel something's not right but I cant put my finger on it. I'ts not the middle guy's hands, I know they suck. Maybe the third one is a little unbalanced?

wow awesome amount of studies, especially the first post . Anyways I'm going to be nitpicking some in your anatomy studies (suit yourself you asked for it). So let’s get right down to it: I believe the guy to the left has a head that is a bit too big for his body. I get the feeling that something is off with the shoulders of the guy in the middle, it's like I'm seeing them straight from behind while I'm viewing the rest of the body from slightly above. Don't have anything to comment on at the guy to the right. Just keep it up mate. It feels like you have a really good foundation to start from.

You drew a lot of cool stuff since i last visited. Progress is definitely visible. Love the donkey on laxatives and the comic strip from the gym. Studies coming nicely too. Post more often though (yea, i know...look who's talking), but hey i'm trying to up my frequency too, and i always appreciate it when someone is busting my nuts about it, so i thought you might appreciate it too ). Just think, one hour less on video games equals 1 hour more of studies. Isn't math awesome ? Nah but seriously, you got potential, all you lack is experience, and that comes with practice.

these are looking great, paint some more too... when you paint just pay a little more attention to the smudges, but your CD cover and paid work does not have the smudges, so just a thought for the other paint work... thanks for the visit too by the way!!! You rock and your book is getting great, page two! k

Meilin - Tanks! This is what keeps me motivated and I agree with you. I still need to pay a little more attention to proportions.
Galador - Laxatives?! Hehe. I know it looks kind of like a donkey, but a donkey on laxatives? Didn't see that one coming. Thanks anyway. Yea I need to draw way more, need to really dig into it.
kelly x - Thanks! Yea, I know. I think I'll just keep to the digital stuff a while since scanning is such a drag. I'll try to keep them as cristal clear as possible too.
Thanks for stopping by, friends.
Next update. No color this time. Sorry, kelly.
Was inspired by zhanglu's impressive portraits and just had to get a feel for his style.
Gunnm inspired character doodle...
Here's something for a t-shirt design I'm trying to get around finishing. Will be doing something similar to my first CD cover.
A tattoo design I will be getting sometime. The text sucks so I'll probably remove it.
