Thank you everyone for the numerous comments!! It always makes me feel great to see that alot of people like what I slave over (wow, talk about stating the obvious).

Instead of replies, I made up a process of the NW 15 cover. I never tend to make photos, but for some reason I was smart enough to for that one. Its pretty unxeciting though, coz its really logic stuff when you think about it (at least to me?). hope you digg it anyways....

Hey Nic, a couple of technical questions, for my own curiosity:
1.There's obviously some digital work in some of these (the screen tone overlays, etc.). How much, if any, non-obvious digital work is there?
    2. Is there any airbrush, or just splatter?

Hey guys glad you like the process pix!

Elwell, well, some are pure digital. for the rest, sometimes I do tweaks on a digital basis when working traditionally. Mostly it is just color/level tweaks though. What I have recently been getting into, mainly because I like the speed of digital but the texture/finish of traditional is: Taking my sketch and or inked drawing, coloring it in PS (just flat colors) adding some texture work. Then printing it out on heavy printmaking paper (my friend Michael has a huge gyclee pigment printer ) and then clear gessoing it, then painting on it.
Basically cutting out the part that is least fun..and going straight into detail painting stage when working traditionally. The Punisher and the Ghost rider pieces are examples of that "technique".
And I dont use airbrush, I would like to try, but Ive never gotten my hand on one, and just for the sake of trying, Im too lazy/stingy to pick all that gear up.

I hope that answered your questions somewhat... its all a big mess in my head, and I tend to come up with a new way of working for myself often... not that these havent been done in that manner, but I dont have a recipe for myself :I

I'm loving how you put high contrast, vibrant colors next to each other without it being jarring. It's a crazy kind of harmony =)

Thanks for the process breakdown too! I'm typically too scared to use traditional mediums but guys like you are inspirational!

Yep, it's like my teacher says: Painting is easy, you just have to put the right brush strokes in the right places!

Thanks for the process, it's really helpful!
