Just some avice on your photoshop piece in the last post.
    (1) Colours interact with each other and overlap in some places where one reflects on the other for example. Some yellow of the stockings will reflect on the shoes, not making them yellow but warmer in the area affeted. Or some blue on the stockings.
    (2) Try not to use white or black to highlight or shade a colour. Its not that easy... The surrounding affects the colours, and in a colourless surrounding you will just have to come up with an alternative. White highlights look very plastic and unpleasing.
    (3) push your values a lot more to really bring forth the form of the clothes.

CHeers and think about my advice for the next time.

Haha, you also have the same issue than me ! when you're trying to add light on what you're painting, it just looks like you've added some strokes of another colors ! We should do an OC session together, and try to fiw this issue ! Cheers

That face from photo has very good skin tones,, you seem very comfortable with those With stuff from life it always helps to add a quick sketchy background, especially with metal as it always reflects surrounding colours and therefore needs explanation. Keep it up man!

Some good feeling in the last one. The foto you referenced would be appreciated for the face. I still think your values need some work.
And why on earth do you enjoy painting byros? =D

Shade those faces and male them pop from the page. Most heads seem to be more face than head, which is wrong. The head is huge compared o the facial features only! Keep it man and all will be good!

anyway, I think drawing something you just drew again from memory wouldn't to good, its only making you remember that particular pic not forcing you to think for yourself and make you own form. Yeah and I think I might take more time on study's and really think about it instead of just drawing it.

    Some scribbles

btw I changed my name, Sketchz was so unimaginative.

    Hehe, oops.

    OK it's Dilated now, hehe,..

Yes, that's the wrong type of mem exercise, If we only had photographic memory eh?

What I meant was to redraw your understanding, fortifying some stuff to memory, technical, behavioural, and constant aspects.

zaorr lol I think you still dont understand, I'm not fraz, thanks anyway.

FFS my sp's didnt improve they got worse, first one was best................. well I'm going to make it daily from now on and hopefully get better :/

And I also went out to try something different, a quick speedy enviro, I have no idea how to make textures so it was pretty much like painting in the dark.

It's been like 2 days and you expect improvement in the SPs, just be patient. Don't measure improvement on likeness either, but on the quality of line, rendering, structure etc. The enviro looks cool, but remember that trees aren't always green, especially with that sky, the light wouldn't be strong enough to make such a saturated green. Great work, keep it up

Good job on the SPs man. Try and do a value chart at the side and stick to the values. This will help you understand the colour relations to one another, and help determain the correct values. Maybe try some smoother shading also?

    nice nice!

I think you should try to set clearer areas of light and shadow. and push the contrast a bit. a good exercise would be to do a black&white SP. and I mean only black and white: black for shadow, obviously and (leave) white for light. Itll force you to decide where the light really hits an object

    cheers

hmm. your imaginative stuff is a bit lacking compared to your study, but thats only natural and if you keep doing these, you'll improve. simple.

and if you look at one of your figures from mind, and feel that anatomy is wrong, hit up ref and try to correct it. of course you wont do that with all your figs but you could say, that…dunno, maybe correct 5 figs from mind per week using ref (?) just thinking

    take care!

It's not the anatomy that's wrong in your imagination stuff, the muscles are very good, it's just proportion. You're ending the biceps at the pecks (2 heads), when it should end a little above the bellybutton (3 heads) and the wrist should be at the groin (4 heads.) It pays to learn loomis head proportion landmarks. Try to do measurements on your imagination stuff to start with as well until you can do it from sight. Keep it up.

Hey man. Try taking your time on the next one, especially when shading. Get some construction down first, then get some values down. Try to block in large shapes first, then work down, just like painting.

Alright I went to the city for school to do some drawings for my project which turned out like fail.
I guess I'm going out my comfort level, cant progress without learning from mistakes.
I need to focus more when I draw, something which is lacking in my life lately.
    anyway ending my emo rant

Nice sketches man ! Try to think about the volume when you're drawing, a few of them ( like the head in the bottom of the page ) looks really flat ! Keep working ! Take care
