Wow sorry i been busy with social life for awhile that i have no been able to draw and when i have some have been just me playing around.

ok the tree thing was just me playing around with shading.
The painting isnt done, i ran out of paint when i was in the middle of it.
The park was me playing around with colored pencils.
And the town was me working on perspectives and what not, and if u look to the left of the castle u see a small figure, thats cause my friend said it reminded them of Alladin so i decided to add them on a magic carpet haha.

Ok been awhile since i posted anything, but here goes. in order

the water thing is from a picture i saw, i cant find it at the moment.

The two guys is a picture i drew about the bailout and all the crap that has been happening in america, One hand in your pocket (to take your money) and one hand behind you back (to basically destroy your life when you become useless, or when they see fit) yea i didnt like the government on how it was, hopefully with obama things will change.

The guy is someone from my school was bored and math class and had nothing to do, we were watchin a movie i saw hundreds of times

The soccer guy is a soccer guy

The Spanish soldier is a just something i felt like making, although i wanted to draw him a little better, something i rushed. took like 30mins of class to do it.

most of what i will draw will be blueprints for stuff i want/plan/will build, and if i do build then i will take a pic to show you

After awhile of not posting, i would just like to show off some recent drawings, I have done alot, but these are the best ones, the rest are just mindless scribbles i do while watching T.V or sitting in Class.

    1)Just an assassin
2)Is sorta like a DBZ character(as friends and family pointed out) they say he looks like a mix between Tien and Krillin
    3)Just a quick Study
    4) My brother playing the piano
    5)Mermaid from John Howe's book
    6) My brothers in the Studio(music)
7)Saw this in the CHOW (3 ghost of Christmas) and i just drew it
    8)A hero fighting a Giant
9)A Solider, I am aware one of his shoulders is off, just havent gotten around to finishing it yet.
10)Was in school, got bored and just sketched this up. A guy going to walk through a valley, and i was gonna add a bible passage to it.
11)Just me writing a passage from the bible, John 3:16
12)Same passage, just a closer view oh and its in hebrew btw.

    Nice progress.

Id like to see some solid studies, but other than that keep it up. Also try and be more careful with your lines.

    Just do alot more man.

Sometimes you have to use the erasor, it's not a tool for the amateur but one for the diciplined(As if I do that when I'm supposed to).

The one with the messed up eyes, i was just drawing them and then i realized i had messed up. and misplaced the eye brows. the unfinished head, was practice drawing from my mind, And Bernie Mac I used a reference. I also have one of Tupac but my camera is dead. I still gotta draw Issac Hayes and James Brown

Keep up those anatomy studies! And definitely work on your line quality, just fill a page up now and then of circles, varying how hard you press. Just build confidence, and have patience with your work.

    a. Draw from life, leave the photo reference for later.
    b. You need to try a new technique, contours aren't working for you.

Try drawing the negative spaces, measuring with a stick, establishing shadows, building up from basic shapes, etc.

Working on some crap. The cups and stuff is what i drew from life, its sitting on my plastic file cabinet. the faces are just practice in different ways they can go. I didnt use a reference soo some may be off.

ANd the doodles are just doodles from adult ed. Dont pay attention to the other crap. Mostly pay attention to the guy. Saw him sitting across the room so i sketched him.

    practice some more
    look online
    draw some ref
    like i said before
you want to know what works best for you
on any given situation figure wise

P.S if drawing from ref or the figure is troublesome, why not pick up the simpler drawing books that help you draw. Book store, look around

My very simple advice is just keep drawing from life and observation as you are doing at the moment - the more you do it the better you will get.
My advice for drawing people that are moving around very quickly is to sketch out a quick stick figure first, don't worry TOO much about getting everything perfect, just try and get the basic form as quickly as possible - then build in detail if you like.

My favourite place to draw people is in cafes and on public transport - here people move about but they are (usually) sat down and they don't change their pose too dramatically.

    Keep hanging there Ajene.

What those guys before me said, find yourself a chair at a cafe or a seat in a bus and draw people around you. And work on shapes with light, the usual ball/cylinder/cube/etc it really helps you build up your drawings later, suddenly you'll see those shapes everywhere in what you draw.

Ok been awhile since i drew much. since feb, 24th. Kinda got mad when i couldnt draw something. trying to get more patient, and not worry about adding all the details cause it throws me off, and pisses me off and i walk away in a huff.
working on drawing from life, usually drawing friends, or anyone who will sit still long enough. Plan on drawing my rats soon too. but atm they keep moving getting settled in their new home.

Also getting back into environment sketching, found out why i love em so much

Hmm jerrick, with that portrait of your friend - it looks like your weren't looking at the photo.
You've just used general convention to do the portrait, when you're doing the portrait - think of the photo as shapes and lines, not a face.

I agree with the post here but have to add that you should put more time in a picture. If you draw from a photo use the chance to look on your work and compare it. You will see something is wrong.
Now fix it when you find another one and so on until it looks really better.
This can take a lot of time but the time pays off.
    Keep posting.

Your work is really improving. You should study linear perspective, it will really help with establishing depth.

Well i been drawing from life more, and from photo reference if i see something i like, mostly from life though.
I think my anatomy is improving a little, but i still need to work on my perspective.

I had alot more, but i lost some of my papers. (possibly at school) and my other stuff is in my small travel sketchbook, i dont post anything from there really. (not until i get a flat scanner anyway)
