Hi everyone, thought I'd rethrow my hat in the ring in this section. If you are not too familiar, I have a sketchbook going in the Fine Art section...
Fine Art Sketchbook
Feel free to look through it if you'd like to catch up with where I'm at.
I feel at the point I'm getting to in that thread, it's a little inappropriate to keep it going in that area and the sketchbook section is a little more fitting.
Here's my latest stuff, comment away, don't go easy on me, if you have something to point out to me, freely give it, my ass is like a hide at this point.

solid stuff. keep posting.
Update on that self portrait from earlier, the thing was going horridly out of control and I wiped the paper and started over. Wanted to get a little anatomy practice in as well, so this new one is sans shirt but still the hat.
Carlosranna - Thank you
So by 'crap', you mean 'excellence', right?
The womans face is beautiful. I almost think you should just leave the rest of her body a bit unfinished.
your pencil work is just lovely.
An update on my self portrait, sorry for the delay, been out of my studio for a week doing some teaching and trying to get some other work done. I'll have an update to the painting up shortly as well. Had to make some compositional changes after starting.
Max - I crap excellence. I'm kidding
No, I figure if I call my stuff crap, I don't have to make excuses for anything when it does turn to crap
Allel - Thank you. Yeah, the body is being left unfinished, I'm done working on those portraits.
Bakatron - Thanks, now my trick is to get my paint work just as lovely.

dlquddnr - Thank you
wilkerson - Thanks
kupocake - Thanks, I've been doing my best to post as much as possible when I have time to do it.
Pandahund - Thanks. Don't be afraid to point anything weird looking out to me, I've been through so many critiques in my life, the worse that can happen is I may not see what you are pointing out, but it doesn't make it any less valid.
Nice work! It looks more like fine art than conceptual, although I guess when I say conceptual I am thinking of game/movie art. I guess its technically concept art if they are studies for a final piece. Okay Im rambling, but exquisite work! Your technique is awesome.
Update on the figure, working on the drapery
Ninjerina - Thanks. This forum has always had a strong user base of fine artists, one of the reasons, in my opinion, that this is one of the better forums to participate in. Kind of has a big motley assortment of well skilled artists, always has been that way.
I like the self potrait. The way you sketch is very nice.
The latest Figure drawing and the last landscape study are looking quite good! Thanks for sharing
Wow, your work is amazing. Great figure and drapery study, really looks great. I would love to see more of your paintings, you have a real knack for them.
Update on the portrait in progress
New Figure Drawing I started today, I like the pose so much, I'll probably do a painting of a similar pose after this drawing is finished up
Bryandaman - Thank you
Victor - Thank you
Derriere - Thank you
Fraz - Thanks. More paintings are in the works right now, I had to revisit some of my drawing practice when I noticed I was getting really sloppy. Vastly improving now though.
wow dude, amazing progress. Loving the pencil portrait a the figure studies. Keep it up the great work.
Update on the portrait, will be finished tomorrow. Sorry for the washed out color, my camera lens broke when my dogs ran through my camera tripod in the studio yesterday and I'm using an old beater lens for the time being.
Diego - Thank you
Really beautiful work here, Nate. I love the delicate touch you have. Thanks for sharing!
