How to clean your dragon. Just a brainfart sketch tranformed into an exercise in rendering with three values with a texture slapped on...

Thank you for the support revenebo! Your sketchbook is very inspirational it is. Your perspective is wonderful! Being an architect - I guess it has to be, ha. Quick question about it. For someone just starting out 3/4 perspective drawings (like your rolls royce on your first page). Should I bust out a ruler for all the lines are should I just constantly be turning the page and hand drawing straight lines to get in double the practice? Odd question I know.

Your concept for the rpg is awesome!! I loved the button eyes on the lion with meaty teeth and the comic scene of the miniature knight. Keep it up!

Really fun concepts, and really well done. I'm liking the reclining gas-mask guy with the miniature lion (with button eyes)

albino-Z Randarn p sage thank you for your support!!
Randarn I don't use rulers for sketches, I think it goes against the logic of a sketch and it's simply not practical while drawing from life. Anyway you can make exercise to learn how to draw straight(er) lines, for example here (from 7:40 on).

An environment for a rpg adventure I'm developing. A bit messy maybe...

Lovely stuff! Do you still work as an architect, or have you stopped to pursue art?

AllyAlbon thank you!! Right now I'm working as a freelance for both entertainment and architectural visualization, but my goal is to be just a freelance concept artist and illustrator.

omnu thank you!! yes, I have some experimemts with watercolors but nothing interesting, they are just too difficult for me.... I'll post them anyway.

1,5 h sketch. I should make a sketch like this everyday, it's so much fun...

I really liked the pose in a sketch by ClaretCrab so I copied the pose and changed the design.

The second watercolor actually looks pretty promising, mostly because of the very nice colors, the composition, and the rythm of the soft curves.
I feel you could achieve a lot of warmth in your figure work in watercolor, in pratice: it sometimes feels a little 'cold', which is only enhances by digital which is a usually 'cold' medium, especially when it comes to colors.

I love the last digital enviroment, so many pretty lights! Keep it up boy

Ariel9 thank you, Miss!! Watercolor could actually help me to paint in a more immediate and spontaneous way without too much refining (that kills my painting usually, I think). I should practice with them more often.

    dU5K, Alrap, dleoblack thank you!!
