Yup, it's another one, the devil makes work for idle hands and all that. For today I chose an a painting with altogether loser brushwork than I'm used to. The artist is Sir Henry Raeburn.

Awesome new studies. I kinda envy you a bit, I should do more faces too, but I still tend to avoid them since I find them so hard to depict. But at the same time it's very inspiting too Keep going!

Noukah: Thank you , these have been fun in a way trying out different ways of painting, I should probably be trying out fuller figures and other body parts. And eventually I'll have to tackle my nemesis: the landscape.

Getting bored of these yet? This time it's John Singer Sargent's 'Vernon Lee'

A prequel to an old pic of mine: http://Edriss.deviantart.com/art/You...Yours-68036881 (yes, DA *hissboo*)

This is my oc Enoch as a young boy a few days after some time-traveling shenanigans have led to him meeting his future wife, the nephilim Damien.

Originally I intended for the image to resemble the first with a cartoonish, cell-shaded, look but after the lineart was done and the colouring started I decided to see how it would look if I kept some of the cartoonish elements but went for a more painterly colour.

Been to the Lake District from Sunday to this afternoon with my course, we've been mainly just sketching and taking photos so I thought I'd give my sb a much needed update.

First off some blind contour sketches of other people on my course.

Now some quick sketches done on post-its while we were out an about, for a drawing assignment.

I have to do a hundred of these so there will be more.

Now some landscape sketches. We did a lot of walking and photo-taking but not much actual sketching.

Here's some WIPs for a painting of an OC that I've been working on on-and-off for a few weeks now, at the moment I'm sad to say it's been more off than on.

i think some of your characters in your paintings are not getting affected by the light source appropriately, colorwise and light wise. i think if you blocked in all the colors first before putting in the face it might help.

    such pretty hair
