    Smile The Watchdog

Hello guys, here my last piece, also posted on my SB.
This time I tryed use an original character of the company where i work. This is Moby, one of the six characters from "Pet Pals" a funny and cute cartoon series for kids.
Usually Moby is the wise and intellectual of the party, but (just in my mind) in the night he become...The Watchdog.
In other words, this is just a personal alternate version, just for fun and exercise.
Many thanks to Massimo for the rough sketch of the character, and to Bjorn and Ryan for the advices.

Crits and comments are more than welcome!

Technical note: Done in Photoshop CS2 whit Wacom Graphire Bluetooth

    Edit:
After I change my old CRT monitor whit a new LCD wide gamut, i noticed some huge differences in my works. So, i'm tryng to adjust images to convert near as possible to what I've seen during the original process, on my old CRT.
    Here the new version:

Its a nice piece, and I love the clean look to it.

My only crit would be after looking at the dog, my eye is drawn to the clouds. At first glance I thought the clouds where in fact a Giant nuke. It took a second of confusion to realize there was nothing significant in the space at all.

is there 3d in those buildings? if not, holy sheet.

either way, nice painting you have there. lighting is just great. the clouds could use a little bit more rendering, maybe, since they are such a dominant area of the image.

thanks Ryan, yeah, I'm happy that i follow your advice about clouds. I need more exercise on, but i'm pretty happy about that first result. Grazie bello!

Joshua thanks for your kind words man. Yes, clouds seems a little too a nuke, i'm still learning and watching the sky every time i can, to improove. Like i say on my sb, in my intent, we are at dawn, the Watchdog is going home after an hard work night, and he take the time for watching something beautiful: the sunrise. I worked many time in the night on my past, and every time i taked the time for behold the dawn, i feel this kind of sweet melancholy. I love it.

Sourgasm yes, I used Sketchup for some architecture structures. You can see the reference on my SB. Thanks for your kind words, glad you like the lighting.

Dian3 many thanks! Yes, definetly my next sky will have more work.

Thanks guys for your feedback, I'm really glad when people take the time to comment my works.

    Cheers!

Banhatin thanks man! Yeah, the clouds was a lot hard to draw for me in this piece, and I'm still not totally satisfied. This is one of the first time that I use not only an 100% hard round brush for general rendering, but I agree, my brush was not softly enought. I take your advice for my next sky. (hey, love your works!).

I'm a little excited, just now I realize that you crazy guys give me four stars for that piece. This is my first stars, i'm really happy that you dig that work. Many many thanks!
