That popcorn does not look very appetizing... Everything else, however, does! The frog piece especially.

I did notice one thing that really seems to limit your pieces. They're all centered in a very obvious square or rectangle frame, and this really only lets you compose them a few general ways. Try some different layouts with your current techniques and I'm quite certain you'll find some really interesting new directions!

I hope that's helpful. You've got the talent and skill, just push harder and try to make your presentations more articulated

so you dont like eating popcorn but frogs?

what do you mean by new formats? just elongate the shapes like widescreen or something? most of them are in a certain format because i only had those canvases^^ some of them were presents for christmas and so on. i have a new piece which is longer i think its 100cmx50cm, i will take a piicture after i framed it properly but you are right, i will test new formats!

thanks man that really cheers me up!
(but how do you mean more articulated? any hints?)

    thank you

yay finally someone who really reads my posts ;-) see? the shadows auf dem pulli unten really add to the lesbarkeit.

if you want you could put a tiny bit of work on the right sleeve to define it a little more. maybe blen the two tones a little more together.

then it should be a perfectly nice conceptart.org sketchbook entry ;-)

    cheers

Exactly, try different canvas sizes, try placing the focal point somewhere other than the center, try using geometry to align your composition, or find relative guidelines within the painting itself and orient it around its own dimensions and directions. The piece already knows what it needs and what it doesn't and how it will look best, you just have to look at it with fresh eyes each time and discover what's what. the 100cmx5cm is a great example, something allows you more freedom with composition. Even a normal rectangle frame like 50x85 can give you lots of interesting composition possibilities, but they won't be as obvious, so I'd say try something with the 100x50 and see what you come up with!

iwill try to use different aspect ratios! its a good idea!
but ycoudld you give me an example of using geometry to align the composition? i cant really imagine what this means!
    thx
