I figured i have to rearrange my pictures to have the possibility of changing the first picture more easily so here goes my old stuff just to have it in one thread.

at the moment im trying to get a hold on digital painting so im kinda disregarding my pencilw orks but i will try to draw more
means a lot that you like my stuff !

here is a new color/portrait study i did (from foto reference)
what do you think?
just add a little more sharp detail to her pullover, looks a little too blurry, but face is well executed
really fresh stuff meister, the fat donald made my day!! keep up

That popcorn does not look very appetizing... Everything else, however, does! The frog piece especially.
I did notice one thing that really seems to limit your pieces. They're all centered in a very obvious square or rectangle frame, and this really only lets you compose them a few general ways. Try some different layouts with your current techniques and I'm quite certain you'll find some really interesting new directions!
I hope that's helpful. You've got the talent and skill, just push harder and try to make your presentations more articulated
so you dont like eating popcorn but frogs?
what do you mean by new formats? just elongate the shapes like widescreen or something? most of them are in a certain format because i only had those canvases^^ some of them were presents for christmas and so on. i have a new piece which is longer i think its 100cmx50cm, i will take a piicture after i framed it properly but you are right, i will test new formats!
thanks man that really cheers me up!
(but how do you mean more articulated? any hints?)
yay finally someone who really reads my posts ;-) see? the shadows auf dem pulli unten really add to the lesbarkeit.
if you want you could put a tiny bit of work on the right sleeve to define it a little more. maybe blen the two tones a little more together.
then it should be a perfectly nice conceptart.org sketchbook entry ;-)
haha kfeeras, i like you mixture of english and deutsch very interessant!
i will give it a try later to blend them colors more thanks for paying so much attention to my work!
you are studying in munich right? what is it like to stuy art? im palnngn to do animation but still not decided, maybe illustration?!
iwill try to use different aspect ratios! its a good idea!
but ycoudld you give me an example of using geometry to align the composition? i cant really imagine what this means!
i was at the kunstfos und hab abitur nachgemacht. ab oktober wird kommunikationsdesign studiert an der fh hier in münchen. bin mal gespannt!
oh interessant, lass mich mal hoeren wie die uni is! ich muss erstmal zivi machen -.- naja
Hey guys, i was painting a little birthday card for my dad (its his birthday today, so im kinda late^^) maybe any of you has any suggestions on how to spice it up a bit?
( oh and yes, that guy is my dad, he loves futurama)
since the head looks pretty realistic i suggest to make the glaskasten a little more realistic and perspektivisch, too ;-) well, day is over, birthday too. hat er sich gefreut??
A transparent highlight on the glass (and over a portion fo your dad) would make it more obvious that the head is inside a round container and not behind one.
my sketches here... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92997
www.sevans.co.nz , visit them or a puppy dies!
you are right, shoul dbe more perspektivisch (or in perspective, whatever you wanna call it) ^^ but yeah ialready gave it to him and he was happy about it
thanks for the tips though, i added a bit of highlight, but not to exact, i have to practice this more!
heyja, new update, i tested some techniques by Andrew 'Droid' Jones. his stuff is awesome go check it out at www.androidjones.com . he is really inspiring.
anyways i did this test of his technique and this is what i came up with:
That Andrew Jones stuff is amazing. How'd you get hold of his technique [tutorials?]? Would love to know how you created all that.
Sorry, your work.
That popcorn monsters piece is ace, a bit like seeing images in clouds.
The first pieces in oils are great, good use of colour [although this is coming from someone who really should do more painting].
I can definetly see the comic genius in your work, want to see more.
Hey Porg, thanks for your kind words
i watched a tutorial of andrew jones (it's from massive black but i dont recall the name, a friend had it)
basically you take some interesting alphas (black and white images) with cool shapes, i took some hebrew latter, the firewire smymbol and some other shapes.
then you go into zbrush (3d modeling software) and use the deco brush to create interesting forms, the deco brush looks very organic and gets cool random results. just play with it.
then you export it to painte ruse some interesting papers made of cogs and electronic cirquit boards and stuff to add new shapes, claen it up in photoshop and jus tmirror your random shapes and ty to find objects in it. e.g masks or body armor or whatever you like its fun!
i found it
its called "thumbnail demo" its really interesting to watch
Great, thanks for that.
I thought he might have used Illustrator with all the smooth curves and repeated images, zbrush sounds like a three dimensional vector program.
I've always had trouble with 3D programs, pretty much why my video gaming employment dream was crushed
Cheers for the video link though too.
Hey guys and girls!
It has been a while.
I started my civilian service at a primary school for mentally challenged children a couple of weeks ago. it's a great job but really time consuming and exhausting.
so i didnt really create anything. finally i got some spare time and bought a little old tablet PC (the toshiba m200 which is a loooot of fun. so today i sat down and actually painted something wohoo. i will try to do at least one painting a day now to get myself back on track. please let me know what you think.
all the best and thanks for your advice !
Hey Kat, I finally returned and im glad i did, those images look so much better without the watermarks. I really like your oils, they are a tricky medium to get used to. Cool idea with the pop corn, that stuff is just evil ;-)
With regards to the paintings, i think you have a solid understanding of the basics, but it would be nice to see you pay a little attention to the edges and maybe suggest the form with smother transitions. Keep up the good work and post post post ;-)
Hey RandAlThor thanks for the kind words. it's a good advice with the different edges, i never really paid attention to it thanks man
heya i was inspiried by algenpfleger's sketchbook and his commitment and deligence that i thought about following his example and do a self portrait every day. first try wasnt really satisfying but im really tired now and i will have to get up in about 5 hours so i will call it a day and go to sleep.
here is my (poor) first try, i thought it would look relly stylish if i painted my face looking down in the mirror with the whole room darkened except for that little light that my laptop provides. well... it doesnt actually do you please have any suggestions on how/where i could paint my face? im working on my notebook computer so im sort of mobile (for example if any of you said that the light in the toilet at 4.30 pm is especially good ,) no seriously any suggestions? thanks folks! good night
