Ninerjina - Oops, sorry... forgot to answer your question. I use Photoshop. I've used painter in the past, but I'm so comfortable with PS's interface and shortcuts that it's hard to switch.

    RockNRolla - Thanks!
    Wilkerson - Thanks!

I don't know if you guys want to see stuff like this, but I did an illustration for a friend's website/brand image... It's a different kind of style from concept art, but I definitely enjoy experimenting with all kinds of visuals. Let me know if you want me to not upload stuff like this.

Hey all, I was inspired by Sparth to do a rendo... But I'm working on this piece and environments are a struggle for me. Looking for some advice before I post a final? I just don't know... my enviro scale is often way off, and I don't feel like I'm getting the kind of focal point that I want. I keep pushing pixels around to no avail...

For those out there who might check this, I have a question. Tigermilk suggested that I do master studies, and I think that's also a good idea. However, I'm not entirely sure which masters people might recommend? I know the four renaissance masters, rembrandt, degas, etc, but can people recommend other masters? Or specific pieces?

Also, for those in art school... are masters studies common practice?

    Thanks in advance...

    For CHOW

I tried to go for a tamer costume design with an individual of a thicker stature, hopefully using the body proportions to showcase the strength of the character. C&C welcome.

So I think that I should do more concept exploration before painting if I have the time. This set is of wimpy/nerdy interpretations of the character...

    xzacto - Thanks!
Trashy - Thanks so much! Ah yes, those IDOW illos were quite old. Maybe I should put those up here? Or, maybe I need to draw more and put up new stuff!

For personal-ish... had to be a bit more realistic with this one so, no far out spaceship futuristic-ness...

For IDW. Weird that IDW this week was also not-far-out-spaceship-futuristic-ness.

Awesome work man, really awesome, specially the hard surface ones. And I want to ask what are the techniques you use to draw stuff like that space ship above. You use Photoshop? Do you work with shapes or what?

    Thank you

Two thumbs up on your sketchbook! I really like your CHOW pieces. Especially Red Sonja, very nice! The sketch you did for your friend... is that from Getbackers? I forget his name... haha anyway, great drawings! Looking forward to seeing more.

    Your pencil work ist awesome!
As well as your digital work!
Your piece for EOW is great, although I liked the first version with the higher contrast of the temple better.
Will keep an eye on your sketchbook

Sorry for my absence... I got totally tied up with the day-job for the past... however long. As I've done for the past few years... like someone trying to diet with every turn of the new year... I'm going to try to keep up with the entertainment design drawings.

To your questions that you asked 9 months ago:
xissburg - Photoshop only. I use paths when I want something super clean, man-made machinery-ish. I rough out a sketch, then path-work key areas of color, then airbrush the highlights and shadows. After that, I'll add the details and fine pencil-lines.

Geeshin - Thanks! And yep! Way to catch the GetBackers sketch. Few people know about that series.

    Sarbro - Thanks!

My most recent CHOW... but I posted too late. I'm dumb.

Good stuff. I think the last two pieces you've done are showing improvement. The last Chow is looking good and I really like that aircraft you did, looks great.

Great pencils, man. The environment piece looks good too, but the temple seems too light. Not too sure, tho. Anyways, nice work.
