hahahahah.. looks like its oficially the "hibbs and oblio sp thread "
strokes starting to make a bit more sense on this one.
thanks oB!!!!! folks i am still alive....barely:p .
but hey, hopefully i will be able to show my face around here a little more lately. we had a mega thing going on at work that.....well...was rather intensive. but alas, it is over. i have some work done....won't have internet at my house until the 10 th. hopefully i can come up with more spod's by then.
once again, thanks OB!!!!
keyth - lame excuses (get them done or i'll shoot you :chug: )
Hibbs - yeah.. let's roll. Btw.. why don't you show me some tricks - the force seems strong in you.
here's my crap - i had to change a bit the pose... new challenge and all.
I've failed of course but.. it was fun (or maybe not :bash: )
oblio-there are no tricks, there is only trying :p

sad day for me....
yay i am back and semi-free to do sp's again! nice work oblio, jhibbs you guys are carrying this thread this month so far.... you guys have some nice sp's
jaku - i like you colours they are a good choice!
well here is my failed attempt to get back into my sp groove. it has only been 2 weeks and wow it really hurts my progress, i feel like i took a couple of steps back This was about 25 minutes this morning i might try another one later today to see if i do any better.
this thing is still going strong i see. great stuff there, jhibbs- the nov4 totally rocks me; and oblio- that one with you holding your breath made me laugh (it's a good thing )
here's one of my erratic quickies... stream of conciousness, roughly based on a webcam shot
lungbug-nice man, kinda reminds me of the sea
yesterdays and todays:
Jaku- really like the colors, especially around the eyes.... eye sockets
Oblio- love the checkers, you keep impressing and inspiring
Lung_bug- wow, thats really cool! wish your hair was like that too
jhibbs- really favor the second one.... that dim light
heres some portraits I drew over the weekend... not of me but better than no new posts I guess. they take about 5 minutes each. i draw so many, but make sure i don't sign them with my real name
benzo - not to shabby i must say. they are pretty quick as well which is amazing considering how well they are drawn. keep it up and post more!
jhibbs - you seem to always have really observation of light and form. i am starting to understand what my instructors have been telling
lung_bug - that is really intense!!! i am really feeling that sp is it done in PS? you need to post more!!!!!
oblio - that is very interesting faces you have been doing lately keep it up!
ok here is mine i tried on this one to get it pretty accurate but as you know it is hard to do that for everything... if anyone has any crits or suggestions on my sp's i would really appreciate any kind of suggestion that would help me improve or see somehting that i didn't. thank you for any help i appreciate it much
j mac-thanks man i still feel like a child to all of this
jhibbs - yeah i know what you mean
where is everyone? they have all vanished into nothingness... and keyth where is your sp's man?!
well here is mine i rather quick one but it is alright i guess in my books... i have been trying to measure more than trying to shade.
it's harder to live.. every day it's harder...
j.mac - you're doing GREAT!!!! Yes.. you should measure more (not like i do i should do that too but lately i draw only becouse it calms my mind - and i'm in a "very hurry" every time)
so.. pay more attention to the form now.. leave the shading and values for later.
here - your value range should be bigger (more contrast)
good to see you are slowing down obilo. slow down obilo! try sticking a pencil in your nose .. it does wonders ..
jhibbs: i have seen much passion from you through these threads. you are doing great work! your passion is inspiring. if it isnt too much to ask, i would like to see more detail, i can see you have it in you.
killing people-thanks for the kind words. to me, detail and frustration are similar words. every time i have tried to get more detailed it comes out looking like a piece of shit that i want to toss. in fast short pieces, i have the colors, and the forms, and proportions, but when i try to go more detailed, it just falls apart. not only can i not get the details/planes to feel more defined, but i also usually lose the afformentioned correct aspects of the piece. this also applies to my oil paintings; i dont know if its a problem with the way i start, or i just cant use the materials right (or PS). technical/realism based help is nonexistent at my school, and im kinda bitter about it in case you cant tell. i kinda wish i was at a more realism-based art school.... i would love help from one of the pros or people at better schools but i feel stupid asking..
enough talking, heres me trying to be more detailed for today:

Thanks oblio i appreciate your help. I see what you mean, i need to get more range. darker darks and better form/structure got it :p
this one is much better it looks good. i think you should work more on structure and form too, maybe less attention on your gotee (sp?) i find it to be your main focus in all of your drawings. i think just alittle less attention on that and more on the rest might help just a thought. i hope this doesn't offend you. keep it up.
jhibbs - i wish i could see it but there is red x man
Oh a side note, i think for each month where there is a holiday or what have you, we should have a themed sp around the end of the month. to spice things up alittle... i don't know it is just an idea i had that might be fun. what do you guys/gals think?
I havent been over here in awhile, good to see alot of you guys are still pumping out qualitly work. :chug:
Anyway, heres mine, firstime doing a SP with Painter, I then tweaked it alittle in Photoshop.

Guys you are doing great!
I feel so left behid, and have really bad conscience for not keeping at it but I have been so bloody busy (that is a very original excuse eh?)
