    Monkey King's pal: Pig

He's sort of a stylized boar-pig beast. Its not a very dramatic pose. The painting started off as a B&W concept doodle that I just started painting for fun. It was more an exercise in painting and lighting. Crits and comments welcome.

I think this is very good, but I think if you had some harder brush strokes for some lumps on his skin or maybe a texture overlay it would help the realism a great deal.

And on a side note I can't help but think of the old school teenage mutant ninja turtles villain 'Bebop'.

I was about to type this exact same thing, but then I scrolled down and their he was. Good call Harkins

I never read far enough along in the comic books, to find out if Bebop had a whole race and backstory like the Rocksteady aliens, but this guy could definitely be in his biker gang. I like the idea anyway.

Maybe just a little more grizzled with the skin, to really take it over the top.

It’s a bit blurred overall except the tips of his tusk and his belt. I’d like to see it brought more into focus. Pigs are a bit hairy in places around the ears and chin. Good, strong expression.

Hmm nice expression, but please watch your secondary lightsource, in some places it's far too strong (Like under the fang, a more definite cast shadow from the first LS might work out the form better) and sometimes it's hard to make out at all (Likethe ear's)
