@ Sammfshields Sehr gut, danke schön ^^. Mein deutsch ist furchtbar... So I'll stick with English, as ignorant as it makes me feel. Thanks for you comments

@Lenzerwin Thanks for your kind words, I'm generally a patient individual, but time is something I'm lacking. Thank you I will look up that book, it has been mentioned to me before.

Went to my first life drawing class last Wednesday, I plan to go again this week. The main benefit I think is that is an intense environment without distraction - 2 hours dedicated to observational drawing. Anyway here is a variety of poses from the session. Hopefully there will be improvement over the 12 weeks it's on.

Some more life drawing - not been able to go every week as planned, but go when I can.

Most of these are 2-5 minutes but the last is 30 minutes.

Been doing some faces. The first one started out okay with a somewhat remarkable resemblance but the rendering is.. a little bit unflattering haha!

Hopefully you'll agree this one is a little better, think I spent just under 40 mins on this one.

Went on a trip to Abersoch a short while back and tried to get a few sketches in between sailing and sandcastle sculpture competitions!

I'm starting to try and do daily studies (or there about!) The emphasis at the moment is trying to get colours right rather than structural accuracy (that also needs some work though).

Some more still life painting, still trying to achieve the colour over composition and structure - I'm happy with the bottle, not so happy with the blue fabric - I have a feeling drapery is quite difficult in general. All in all took me just under 1 1/2 hours. Any critique would be much appreciated.

There are elements of this I'm pleased with, but it still lacks confidence and that certain something. No doubt I need to do more anatomy studies.

Big Dump of stuff from past months... I think I'm getting better at figures but need to take it back a step to figure proportions, figures in perspective and anatomy.

hi man! i think it would benefit you if you tried to make lines of action and maybe exaggarate proportions or curves. try to understand how stuff work. think hard and loosen your arm! the main problem seems to be stifness, rather than proportions. may all be well

    Thanks for your feedback Joona!

You're right my studies are too stiff. And here's I think why:
    1. My work space is quite restricted and ill equipped currently. I would like a table top easel and a few more additions too the workspace, but at the moment I have quite a smallish desk and a rather rubbish chair!
    2. My job! Haha, working for a pharmaceutical company does tend to restrict my creative thinking and movements.

These shouldn't be excuses however and I should learn to deal with them.

    Some recent stuff

I found the back especially difficult on this one. Trying to get the subtle contours and lighting as best I could.

Started off as a quick study of fur (think it reads ok) and decided to put up a fence and small agricultural building.. because why not.
