I just ate a great cheese and onion sandwich...

Nothing else quite hits the spot for me. I'm a recent convert to grated, rather than sliced, cheese and that extra surface area really makes a difference. I much prefer red onions to white, and I tend to slice into rings in preference to dicing. I think that gives a more satisfying crunch. The magic ingredient? A single, finely chopped pickled onion. Bliss.

    Anyway. Here's some pics.

The single character pieces are from my snappily-titled book, 'The Fantasy Artist's Figure Drawing Bible'. It's 256 pages on fantasy character design, from the basics of drawing the figure through costume and prop design, characterisation and rendering. These are six of 30 example characters which are included, each showing progression from first doodle to finished artwork.

Out now in the UK through A&C Black. Published later this month in the USA through Barron's Educational.

Hope everyone's happy and well. Cheers!

Congratulations on your book, Matt. These are great examples to wet people's appetite towards purchasing 'The Fantasy Artist's Figure Drawing Bible'

I'll have to get myself a copy for my already huge library............it'll find a good home there.

Did you pitch the idea to a publisher?

    Cheers

    Paul

I really like the pics particularly the background of the first one.

What I'd like even more would be a sandwich made with a cheese log covered in those French's fried onions, and throw some more onions, probably Walla Walla sweets on it, all on light rye. It just sounds awesome right now...

You're an asshole for that one, you know...

Congrats, Mr. Dixon ! Always fond memories of you and cow. I was just thinking of you the other day. Clean thoughts, mostly pride and envy when I was browsing my old Heavy Metal mags and saw your page. Best of luck and more power to you.

    Thanks, my lovelies.

Mandryk - Thanks. Keep on rockin', brother.

DeathAndDisinfectant - Thanks, Rich. I'm glad you enjoyed the book.

Kian - Cheers, Jon. Hope everything's good with you.

smokenmirrors - Thanks, man. I'm partial to the salami / cheese melt myself.

Matt Smith - Sure was. Thanks, Matt. Hope all's well.

PaulDavidson - Cheers, Paul. I was approached with the concept and basic format, it was then up to me to pitch the content. I should say that most of the information is aimed at the enthusiastic beginner / intermediate artist. Take a look before you buy..!

strych9ne - So are you, sweets.

Molly - That's almost exactly what I had for my lunch! Sliced white instead of Ciabatta, and plain ol'd cheddar on the chorizo. No mayo for me, either. I toss on some sun dried toms and a sprinkle of chilli flakes. Man, I think it's time for brekkie...

Atmospheria - Thanks, Emrah. I'm a big for of your stuff.

Manly Man - That sounds like a good sammich. Made all the more intruiging as I have no idea what Walla Walla sweets are...

Poshspice - Thanks, dear. Miss you. x

    Titan - Cheers!

WODZGN - Oniony colours? There can be no higher compliment. My thanks to you, sir.

banhatin - Thanks, mate. Lots more scifi stuff in the works if things go according to plan.

lukavi - The feeling's mutual. Must get back in the COW one day.

MoonVisionStudio - Thankyou, Jose. I shocked that you were looking at that poor old lady's bosom!

Hope to be able to post some more interesting stuff in a few weeks time. Thanks for the support, kids!
