    Sold my first artwork! *UPDATED*

    Hey everyone
I know most of you don't know me because I haven't been posting on here too regularly (although I've been meaning to get into the DSG for a couple of weeks). Anyway I just wanted to say that I sold my first artwork last night. The piece was actually a diptych that was in a small college exhibition.
I didn't expect to sell it at all but put a price on it just for fun.
I also didn't expect it to sell because the two drawings were largely experimental for me, particularly in style and medium.
Funnily these two were actually just practice for a 'proper' concept that I had, a triptych which I plan to work on soon.
Anyway it was quite a popular piece in the exhibition and many people were curious about how it was done and what it was about.
Overall, quite an interesting and exciting experience for me...just thought i'd share that with you

    Sounds cool!

Can you post a pic of the piece? I wanna see!

how much did you sell it for? If you don't mind me asking.

    Thanks guys
It means a lot that you replied and encouraged me. I wasn't sure if anyone would bother.

The works are still on show until the 7th of November. After they come down I'll take some pics for my records and post them up. I hope you can wait that long.

As for price, I sold them for $150 Australian. I'm not sure what that is in US currency...pocket change probably.

The whole experience has encouraged me to get my work out there in some of the public exhibitions that are happening in my area and see what happens.

    Thanks again.

That's really neat! Awhile ago a photography teacher required that we submit at least one photo from class to the student show. I was extreemly indifferent about it, but when I heard it was accepted I was suprised and actually really happy. It's always nice to get some gratification and exposure. ya know, i had a friend who painted all the time and never wanted to sell them cause they were a part of her. so she priced them really high, thinking that people would look at the price and be completely turned off.
but then one day one sold for close to $1,500.00

so i guess it just takes the right person to come along and be touched by something you created. but for me, it would be hard to not just give it to them as a gift. i know thats a nice chunk of change, but a part of me would want that person to be happy without having to spend alot of money to be happy.

    Hey everyone!
I know it's been ages since this thread was started- hopefully you haven't all lost interest by now.
I finally made the exchange tonight so I am a little less poor now.
It was a little hard to just give it away like that but I'm guessing that if someone is willing to pay for them they will also be willing to take care of them.
The colour quality isn't great because I took the pics on my dodgy digital camera...
anyway, without further ado, I shall post the works- hopefully they're not too big.
