007-r0b3r7: Thanks, I try my best to take the action in my quick sketches into my longer drawings. Can be a struggle sometimes...

This was a fun sketchbook to look trough. You studies look really good. You have a good economy in your drawings, they convey a lot of details and emotions but with simple measures.

BlackDelphin: Thank you for the kind words, I never really used any one book. I can't really recall any titles for that matter. I think the net has a key information you need to get started. Honestly, knowing how perspective works will only get you so far. Like everything else, you just have to do it enough times to grasp the concept of space in your drawings. I'm no way good at it, so good luck to us both...lol
Bergulf: Thanks! Looked through some of your sketches and it looks like you've got good control of the line to convey form. I would suggest thinking about the rhythm and action of the poses you're drawing and take your work to the next level. Thanks for lookinggg =)

Ahaha well i actually think you are pretty good, but like any artist, i guess you want more and get even better and you always know what you did wrong, even if others miss it.
Thank you for your reply and i'll be sure to do more studies and try n try, and yeah..eventually get it

    Good luck to you too.

And about the last post, i think the colours are really nice, nice saturation level, and you already know how awesome i think your perspective is, so no use repeating that.

I'm so blown away at how dynamic your work is. If I may, do you remember how you went about learning how to do that? (Can't think of how to phrase the question). Or even, how do you start a drawing with such complex poses?

Anyways, I love your still lives, and how you shade fabrics and folds. Looking at your work is kind of inspiring.

If you have the time, please stop by my sketchbook, Chock Full o'Nuts.
I would appreciate any advice or critiques.

derss: Thanks, the light/shadow study was very help in learning to seeing the mass shadow and mass light shapes on the figure.
DKHutcheson: It really just boils down to drawing the figure a lot. First goal is to probably get proportions right. When that becomes effortless, you would then draw the figure in my dynamic poses which often means a lot of foreshortening. I'm still learning this myself..I've been drawing seriously for about 1 year now.

Arggh, foreshortening. That sounds daunting. But it's about time I sucked it up and gave all that mess a try. Thanks for the advice. : ) ♥

Your pencil stuff is hardcore. Loving the strokes you use.
Painting is getting there. Maybe try some monochromatic paints so that you can concentrate more on brushstrokes and mixing paint to how you want it. Then add a warm and cool colour when you get used to that, so you step it up, but still can concentrate. Then move on to a limited pallete and then rule the world!
haha, keep it up though. Your paintings are showing huge improvement already, so just persevere.
