    Red face

Not much of an update...but I really like my new sketchbook! The 5x7 size is perfect for me to lug everywhere with and I just adore the recycled tone paper look and quality =D

You are great, those charcoal drawings are really nice. I really want to get into charcoal after seeing your work.

Anyway, can you tell me how you think about charcoal and graphite?

Thanks Aaron. I think that they both have their strengths and you can do life drawings with either; however, with charcoal you can use the side and do really big strokes which is helpful with laying down the tones quickly. You can also do wonderful gestures with graphite, but it'll just have a different look to it. I think graphite is perfect if its a long pose and if you really want to go in there with details.
