Yessir, AAU indeed! You doing BFA or MFA? A lot of the clothed figure stuff looks similar to what my class was doing, specially the ones of Connie. Love your oil studies by the way!

Nice sketchbook man, I've been on these forums a while and somehow never seen it! Looking really great, especially those gesture studies above, they have the sort of rhythm that I'm always striving to get (and not getting there I'm afraid :p) Nice traditionals too - keep it up

monsi: Thank you!!! I try to keep the feeling of the gesture in longer poses as well =)

kidult: I love doing them =D

Sidharth Chaturvedi: Awesome! I'm BFA...I'm in Lisa's clothed fig 2 right now. Wicked fun..hehe.

ThomasM: Yeah, there are so many sketchbooks and so many updates...I've seen my thread get bumped to 2nd page after just a few minutes. Looks like my gesture studies are paying off a little. I will keep plugging away!

all 20 mins poses and last two are sketches of paintings I'm working on in oils....

Hey, awesome drawings and paintings here. good luck leveling up before school starts up again! So you're going to Academy of Art U? Me too! Well, the online pre-college classes anyway. I'm guessing actually going to the school is a way different experience.

Oh man those clothed figure drawings are nice! Good gesture in the poses, can almost touch the weight. Keep it up man, you'll level up no time, well probably a couple times with this much drawing.

Vertical: I don't know how the pre-college classes work...If they are on campus, I don't think they're much different. Maybe expectations are lower...I'm not sure. =(.

Metal Fingers: Level up a couple times?? I'm happy with just 1 level =D. Thanks for stopping by!

Heres morrreeessss, and another sketch for another oil painting...I will post them all (the paintings) once I'm done!

Again! Some quick studies, 1-3 mins. Then the usual...Less color today, tried to focus on tightening the drawing more still.

Those studies are looking great, looks like you've improved a lot in just the last couple months as far as understanding the body and how clothing hangs. I'm especially liking those color sketches in the last post: really interesting shapes there.

Those draped women are really good in a classical kind of way. I think it would be worthwhile to take it further, bigger, color?

Post 376 really seems to be a clear leap forward - those are just great!!!!! It is fun to see all of these models I have drawn/painted so many times! What clothed figure did you just take ? is that 2 (color makes me think 2).. what are you taking this coming sem.. I am jealous of simple, good lighting, most of the walk-in workshops around SF don't have that so I don't have much shadow/form to work with #$^&% Great to hear from you !! - Kevin

Chaser thanks for stopping by my sketchbook as I get so few visitors. Those inkwash studies on this page are really interesting. Are these from people and places around your house or neighborhood? They've got that immediacy about them when your subject may not hold still for long.

purb36: Thanks purb, I enjoyed looking through your head studies.

wilkerson: Well these drawings are all done in class, and the point is to learn to draw faster and more accurate. At my current speed, the amount of color you see is the most I can get in 20 mins. Oh, and they're 18x24" pretty good size for a drawing..

KarylGilbertson: Thank you kind sir~Still have plenty room to improve!

kevinwueste:I took clothed 2 w/ Lisa, it was such an awesome class and she was such an awesome teacher. I'm actually trying to move more towards your level...crazy halftones and what not..I'm over the dramatic lighting set ups really. Soft lighting seems so much more fun! Been awesome watching you progress..slow down so the rest of us can catch up!

    cgaddict: Thanks for stopping by~

Stephen.Zhou: Wow thanks! I loved your sketchbook too, please post more!

Spivak000:You're welcome...The sketches were probably a few mins each. It was done w/ a japanese calligraphy brush pen at a recent family trip. Pretty cool because it allows me to be loose and make interesting marks.

    Ikage: TYTY

ArtDisaster: Thanks~ I'm painting that one in oils, almost done =)

Your sketchbook is amazing and very inspirational~ I absolutely love how you draw noses [odd I know but noses are like my fave things to draw/look at now] Anyway, just a quick question: are you on deviantART by any chance? Cause I could have sworn I saw that Marie Antoinette comic on there somewhere.

Anyway I'm looking forward to more art :]
