The last sketch is starting to look pro! I'm a big fan of Adi Granov's version of Ironman as well. Have you tried using Vue, its great for matte painting. my two cents. keep it up.

    Holee shiiiiiiit!

This is what I call a resurrection!

But, alongside my jobs, I really want to get my 2D skills up and running.

    So

Since I've been lurking immensely for the last few weeks, I gathered it's time to update my sketchbook.

Nothing fancy, I'm still crap. But it's a homage to my old job.

I did something most of you'd find borderline retarded and bought myself an Ipad.

So far, I love it. One aspect is of course is it drawing.. "capabilites".

Of course I wouldn't recommend this as a digital sketchbook for you hardcore artists. I'm pretty much satisfied with it's performance concerning my really really basic sketchwork on the fly.

And incidentally, an Ipad sketch as a result of me trying to mimic a pencil.

(of course, I could've just drawn this with a pencil and a sketchbook.. but I am to much of a geek)

Quick sketch of Muspel (the fire region in Norse mythology).

It's utter crap, but at least I'm having fun with my brushes

About a month ago I got a job in Denmark, that required me to relocate.

It's been quite interesting, but to make a long story short, my GF's back home, and I miss her.

    So I drew her this.

Since I recently got a job in Denmark, I'm essentially emigrating and dragging my fiancée and parrot with me.

    Crazy stuff.

And, since my mother in law's not taking it too well, and Christmas was just around the corner, I drew her this as a present.

Again with Muspel, mainly an attemt to get depth into my "art".

    And a very generic dragon.

I couldn't celebrate it with her since we're divided by the atlantic, but instead, I drew her this picture

No idea behind this other than grotesque, and paint-blending practise.

    Bleh..

A sketch I decided it'd be nice to trace, and shade badly.

Really wanting to do some personal 3D project for awhile, since I'm getting a bit rusty in a wide range of 3D, with my job being really monotonus and boring.

SO, Here's a concept sketch of a lich I'm gonna sculpt the sh*t out of.

Me and SAI are in love.

I am not sure what it is, but it feels much more organic than Photoshop or Painter to me.

I'm enjoying the gore stuff, and the values on that last painting seem very solid to me.

    Thank you.

I dunno where the difference is, but, trying to do stuff in Photoshop, I always feel uncomfortable and not in control.

    Same with Painter.

    But not in SAI.

    So, YAY!

I like that last zombie funny cartoony style.
And you know what they say, it's not the tool that matters but how you use it. I see a lot of people do great things with Sai, so if it rocks your boat keep on rocking!

    Hey.

Sorry the late reply but thanks

I always feel how Photoshop handles pressure sensitivity flimsy at best. I've done many things to get it to behave the way I want, but have never been able to get comfortable within it. But with SAI, I feel it's more of an extension of myself, as it behaves exactly like I think it ought to behave. I especially like the fact that the Water Color brush behaves like the Smudge tool on light pressure levels, so before you're laying down colors, you're blending together what is there.

Handy in some situations, but messy in most. Works for me though.

Incidentally, here's an update I painted in.. ahemm.. Photoshop.
