i usually just scan them grayscale at 300 dpi on my modestly settingless scanner and then i drop the brightness and up the contrast quite a bit digitally

Your technique for describing form with line is just fantastic! And your outlines of the figure are just like a flowing river, so rhythmic. I have a question though. Do you have any tips for developing proficiency in form? Or just keep pushing, keep trying to do better drawings from both imagination and life?

thanks nexuun, its hard to say really what the best way to develop your understanding of form because the approach for it varies for everyone. the most standard and probably best advice you can get is to draw from life because it tends to sweep the rug from under you and force you to approach whatever youre drawing critically rather than just blankly copying it. from my experience representing form is a distinctly conscious process that you actually need to think about to convey properly, and any kind of practice that helps you do that is extremely beneficial, things like simplified plane drawings, perspective drawings, wireframe type sketches etc.

I'd love to see more fully rendered works from you, but damn I love your line work a ton! The forms are so nicely defined and implied, really dig the style and mood in each one. I hope to see more soon.

Loving your style! Doubt I'm going to be able to stop myself from trying to emulate it haha! Gorgeous shading, really interesting and engaging work. Want to spend more time looking at it and taking it in but it's very late and I'm about to fall asleep :L Do keep posting!

I do believe this is my Sketchbook. Take a look, feedback and anything that will help is always appreciated!
