ya the things i notice with the last one, i think it looks good but her closed hand looks more like shes missing all the digets and shes sort of scowling and looks a bit old or is that just me lol, aside from that its awesome tho. The anatomy sketches are great too, keep it up

Paintings in your new post are simply awesome. Pose of a lady with the sword is maybe to static, but still it's very nice shit. You made my day

Thanks man, i know it's a bit weird it's just that i had to stick to the original lined art of the person (it's actually for some kind of a coloring contest on DA)

Here is the "final" version....it's as finished as it will ever be.

Fallenangel, I think you misunderstood what I was trying to communicate. At no means I was traying to suggest that you quit painting. Or for that matter suggesting that you should persue anything other than you want.
All I was trying to say is that, having strong drawing skills defines the outcome of your final art, and my suggestion was to focus on it a little bit more than the other (coloring).
Good composition is what makes an art piece so atractive. Everything else is just rendering. At least that's my oppinion. Piece

    Ludic Thanks

A personal painting wip that i'm kinda lost direction with and afraid to put more work in it cause i feel that my skills aren't enough to convey what i really want and mean.

Any feedback on it is much appreciated (it's my first time painting water too...it's freaking hard )

hey alex~ lovely updates (i need to keep up with you). regarding the latest digital, i agree that water is hard to paint... you can always do studies of it but it's kinda hard to do that from photos (imo). perhaps doing a still life with an object inside a container of water? D:

also, i think it's always a good to know when to stop working on a piece like you've stated. the image looks good so far and i think if you were to try and push it without the appropriate knowledge of the subject then it would ruin the painting. but give it a try with the water studies-- could help :3.

Thanks mate i"ll give it a try.

Finished a sketchbook and made 10 pages of stuff in the past 2 days....unfortunately for me, i think that i'm not advancing as much as i wished.
One of my goals is to become at least a semi pro. artist in the next 12 months, in this rate it would probably take me 12 years.

Oh well here is the 10 page stuff...

and here is something lil to finish my todays post....i was too drunk and it was around 4 am yesterday....so i don't really remember if i used any ref for it

Some serious digital firepower you got there!
Working like a machine you are becoming an
unstoppable super being. And not to forget to mention,
your pencils are also very high class just as always.

I admire your motivation. I simply can't force myself to do as much so refined pieces. I hope you will improve as fast as you wish, or even faster and achieve your goal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, good luck .

I am away from the forum for a few seconds and you're adding tons of sketches! Awesome amount of pieces in a short time and very nice studies of arms, hands and legs. I am not mastering the face, but I think you should draw some unperfect old men's and women's portraits. You'll learn a lot with their bone/skinfolds and all the stuff of older faces. The drawing of the perfect ones looks very nice but it could also slow down the learning process.

Now after 50 hands... draw 50 faces (fast and short time frame)!

Amazing sketchbook here... Wonderful lines in all those sketches and I like it how you work with the shadows!
I think, the wip is going to be awesome! The scene is looking good. I have just one question about her head: Is it lying in the water like the body in a relaxed manner or is she raising it a bit out of the water?. It looks to me like the second thing, but I'm not sure if that is intended, because her expression is so calm like she has no reason to get her head out of water as much as possible in that pose. I think, the head would fit better in the whole pose if it is more on one line with the spine

looking great so far alex! can't say much on critique xD anyway, i noticed your palette (particularly in this latest piece) has this subdued or neutral-like quality and love those colors the most, not much for bright and vibrant but this is really good :3

what the scouter says about he's power level?
    it's over nine thousand!!!
    what?! nine thousand!

And it's still rising ;> Your improvement speed is really impressing, keep it up! About your painting. I know that this is early stage, but it's quite dead right know, some more dynamic lightening would give this piece some life. Add more light to your focal point maybe
