miNzketchbook - Some Works From 2008 ( big download )

    Hey everybody !

I am miNze , 18 years old , still walking to school every boring day ^^ . I haven't been here for a long time and I don't have a real sketchbook here , so I decided to open a new thread with a few of my 2008 artworks . Hope you enjoy and leave some comments =) .

    Greetings from bavaria !

    Inspired by Marko's stuff

Andrew's artworks are so inspiring ...

You've got some really nice work going here. I've never seen someone do some of those Andrew Jones inspired pieces so faithfully.
    Enviros are lovely as well.

the works where you took some of the principles of what andrew does and made it your very own...where most people cant even see andrew anymore...are the strongest of those you showed with his influence. Beware coming too close to subject matter and composition which he already explores...so hopefully you will take what you did and keep pushing your own direction. You have some good skills. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them as time goes on.

MiNze, i wish i had that much skill with photoshop when i was 18! You've got a fantastic collection of pieces here, and i have to agree with some of the comments that your Andrew Jones inspired pieces are really great, not to mention your own independant style which you showed with your first set of images looks awesome! No crit's from me - just keep doing what your doing!

Pretty good. Remember to do some traditional studies also. Its an invaluable stage that will help your digital work too. Just dont commit solely to the digital tools so early on.

Watch out for borrowing imagery instead of ideas when working with artist specific inspiration but, other than that, pretty great stuff scattered throughout. I think your environments are the most impressive here. Some of those more abstract ones are quite literally out of this world.

I also love teh gun/knife concept. Great work!

    Ok =) . I know I went to far with the Painting " jo.jpg " . I wasn't sure about uploading it . I will concentrate in finding my own direction =)

    >>Bendragon
Thanks ! Ofcourse ! I'm doing pretty much traditional studies mostly with pencils and markers . I'm just too lazy to scan them in and upload them ^^ .

    >>Dragonis
Thanks ! Yeah I'm using Painter most of the time . PS just a bit to sharpen the paintings when they're scaled down or add a color ballance .

    >>Interceptor
Thanks ! Yeah I really can feel the motion and the energy while drawing these abstract artworks . It's so intuitive and powerful and a lot of fun !

Absolutely remarkable work, especially considering your age. But remarkable irregardless. I can't wait to see you keep pushing that inspiration into your own style. I can already tell that future works in this thread are going to be simply amazing.

    Can't wait to see. =)

    @ Dragonis

So do you mean the patterns I'm using ? They're very easy to create yourself !
They're just simple geometric shapes !

Awesome stuff man. Plus your 18 so you got so many opportunities ahead of you. Really makes me wish 'd persued being a concept artist at 17 instead of a graphic designer. Now I'm old and want to be a concept artist and feel it's late now

Wow, inspiring works- you have quite a portfolio already at your age. You definitely seem to have things under control, so now I hope you can keep playing and exploring with your skills and imagination. Cheers!!

Well, what basically everyone said: That's some amazing stuff you've got there. My only crit would be that your figures aren't up to scraps with your dynamics and composition and colouring skills YET But I assume for a talented person like you that would only be a matter of time.
