    Christine's Sketchy Things

Hi, I just found the courage to join this place today and I thought I'd start a sketchbook here.
These are some random sketches/studies I did in Painter recently. I've been experimenting with brushes and just practicing new techniques.

    More sketches

I just realized I didn't even introduce myself
My names Christine Garner, I did an archaeology degree and then realized I didn't want a job as an archaeologist.
I've always drawn things from very early on and I dream of working as an illustrator or in the concept art industry one day. I decided to take the plunge and become self employed last year because boring repetitive office work literally makes me fall asleep, and I used to get in trouble for it.
I've been learning digital art and improving my drawing skills for about 4 years or so now since I did my degree. I mostly work in Corel Painter. I have a twin sister who calls herself Lemm on the internet and my best friend is my border collie dog who sleeps in my room.
Some more sketches I did nor long ago:

I really like the dragon. Especially the texture of it.
You've got a really strong beginning to your sketchbook here and I hope to see more.
And I have to say that it takes some real bravery to go the self-employed route. I've been debating doing that for a couple of years now but am too afraid of falling flat on my face if I tried.

    Keep up the good work.

    More sketches from my sketchbooks

These are some more images from my sketchbooks. Some are older than others. I have kept my sketchbooks from 2003 onwards and keep them under my bed, but these are from around 2007-2008.
