Natzuur-JK: thanks man! yeah, you might be right about them 2 being kinda flat. I thought the Berkey one was rather contrasting though

    Hive_minD: much obliged!

young paddy1: cheers, was really happy to read it triggered your imagination.

D@niel: thanks man! I'm a regular in your sketchbook

walnut: thanks! do you mean natural as in traditional / painterly look?

    Dan Valkar: cheers! I will!

    oomgawa: thx man

bigfooTrooper: thanks a lot, it means a great deal to me!

Here's 3 totally different kinds of images of late:

    study, ref taken from characterdesigns.com

    kid's face, no ref

    and some conceptual thingy

Hope you like! And as always, any feedback is encouraged.

The latest figure drawing is mighty nice. The sinewy part on the neck (wow THAT is a good sign I need to get back to more anatomy studies) seems a tad strong with the rest of the neck dropping into complete black shadow right next to it. I suppose it could be like that in the ref with the lighting the way it is, but it still gives a strange illusion that the neck stops there instead of the rest of the neck actually being in shadow.

But I'm really really loving the knees of all things. They're really well done and usually knees don't strike me as anything special.

"This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy." -Douglas Adams

    NR43: Glad you did!

Vulgar`: Cheers man, he was real fun to paint.

    merl1n: No thank YOU!

DanielC: Thanks man Love your frequent updates

MyOrangeHat: You're spot on there, thanks for taking the time and letting me know! I definately see what you're talking about.

pao: Cheers pal. I enjoy your vehicles!

Mr.Delicious: Lol, so glad you like! Always enjoying your SB!

Max Challie: You're too kind, that's the best of compliment I could get.

robinchyo: Thanks man! Glad you appreciate it, and noticed the sense of weight

    kidult: Thx, I'll try!

Chupacabra: Hey man, thanks so much that means a lot!

Shalite: Wow, I'm not worthy, but thank you!

    bouroune: Thx!

Gloominati: I'll do my best, thanks!

cakeypigdog: Hey, glad you dropped by! Really enjoy your z-brush creations

zou: Thanks! I don't have a recipe, as it feels I'm struggling with colors (as with every other ingredient) with each painting. I guess if I get stuck I try to really do some bold colors and then paint it back into the image.. Watching photos of beautiful scenery containing that extra spice of colors and lighting helps too.

headlessAdi: Cheers! I'm a fan of loose strokes, I'm glad it shows!

Here's some more environs.. They are not very sketchy more like finished, but I enjoy posting in here for now.. I hope you like, and any feedback that could help the paintings towards a higher level are always appreciated. Thanks!

hey Daryl, really nice stuff. Really like the armoured guard further up. Damn nice. Lots of confidence in that design. And the sci-fi interior has the best atmosphere i think, like the play between the solidity at the doorway closest to us and the more atmospheric background. I think the one above it could need more of that, it feels like the solidity and focus is all over it. Especially with the two wires with concrete hanging down, lots of attention going there.
And iI guess the canyon at the bottom is the most unfinished one. Think you could push more variation into the stones in the background, that'll make them feel more natural.

By the way Daryl, where in sweden do you live?

    Cheers and good luck.

That last batch is freaking awesome, especially the hospital.

You've got a lot of texture in your work.

algenpfleger: Thanks dude, love your anatomy studies- pure awesomeness.

    DanielC: Thanks so much!

Pencilator: Thanks a ton for the feedback. I can see what you mean with multiple attention areas in the first one.. It might be just me but it didn't bother me so much, but I'm glad you pointed it out! I might be more careful with it in the future, going for a simpler layout like the 2nd one.

Last one is definitely most unfinished of the bunch. I thought the painting didn't work out as much as I wanted and figured it wasn't worth more work.
I live in Sthlm, and you in Gbg I see

Mr.Delicious: Haha, cheers man! I thought I was dirty (in style that is)

Hive_minD: Thanks, glad you dropped by! I don't seem to be able to be as productive on my spare time as many others here, I'm damn tired after work, even if it's just regular hours. Don't know how people do it..

drew.gee: Thanks! Yeah, I like the textured look in paintings. But I also find painting in a cleaner and less textured way is harder, so I guess that is another reason

mariusz: Cheers, glad you like! The study, you don't like it because it's too similar to the photograph?

    Lotet: Whoa, thanks!

I know no one has asked for it, but as I saved the steps on the first one I could just as well share it? It's really standard procedure and most have probably seen it tons of times, but heck, maybe someone will find it useful-

    Thanks for watching!
