    Ballpoint Heaven >Updated Dec27

    New works posted LAST.

It's time to force myself to draw faster, better, stronger? . Some older ones to start things off then the new stuff. All done in a sketchbook with ordinary ballpoint pens.

Maybe a little about myself..I graduated from Sheridan Illustration in 2010. I like Luis Royo, Mucha, Charles Dana Gibson, Bouguereau, Kupka, and anything done well...

Please crit, don't be a feared!

Naw I don't use pencil underneath. Just the pen.
    Thanks

Well this one kinda sucked from the beginning because I made the table all wonky but I figured I might as well try to pull it through.
My pen was dying so I had to quit while I was ahead.
Not very satisfied but hopefully I'll improve, my biggest problem is getting all my values to fit in one area and not starting from an object.

omg - You put my pen work to shame! The close-ups you do are really amazing. That was always my most hated assignment in class because it would force me to draw larger than I found comfortable. Just looking at all these makes me really envious of your skill... My favorite is the mouse and the Dr. Phil (?) light-bulb head xD

    ah - and thanks for stopping by my sb earlier ;w;

When someone rocks the ballpoint they produce some of the best work around - in my opinion. And you're really rocking the ballpoint. You'ld make a great etcher. Looking great.

Went out on the town yesterday and got a decent sketch of some dude.

I'm trying to work on putting context and backgrounds into everything I draw, as far as I can go.

My current favourite pen also ran out of ink and the one I used for this sketch is c-r-a-p so I'm looking around for a new one I hate it when one of my babies dies haha.

Some new stuff, some crap, some not so crap.

Trying to get likeness in one, didn't really work but I'll keep drawing her until it does.

And a failed piece on the Finnish metal scene. Might revisit it later if I have time, it has potential.

Some stuff from last school year, a storyboarding exercise for Macbeth that got a little convoluted towards the end. This is me working out my ideas and point of view and composition.

You hero! I like using a biro from time to time, the realism in some of your pictures is astounding in my opinion. It's surprising though how a biro can be used much like a pencil, to start of do you lay the foundation of the picture by putting the pen at an angle to the page so your just scratching a faint line? that's what I do anyhow. Well now I have something to aspire to! congrats

Yeah, that's what I do. I prefer pens that aren't new so the ink doesn't come out so readily. Better they be a little dry that way the lines are fainter.

These are fantastic! Great work, miss. There's a sense of extreme confidence and intention with your pieces... it's very well done.

Great detail and draftsmanship. Nice to see people from Sheridan on here.

I took art fundamentals at Sheridan about 5 years ago.

    Thanks everyone.

Here is a master copy that I almost finished but lost the will to.
An obscure artist (to me at least), I can find the name if it's really important I just got it out of my art history book.

    And my mom's mouth.
